In this particular playlist we are presenting different shapes of Dub Techno. Therefore we reached out to our friends and Guest DJs to record and create a set for you.

Artist Bio:
Emesh led by Antonio Muñoz is a master in creative music production across electronic, ambient, slow trance, idm and dub. He comes from the beautiful region of La Alcarria in Spain. Since 2013 on Sendero Records, he has been delivering a quite diverse range of sound to the listener, sometimes danceable, sometimes calming, more metallic, more organic, and always inspiring. Antonio is both, a musician and therapist. His musical influences owe much to the pop and electronics of the 80s when he started working as resident Dj at Deadly club in Brihuega (Guadalajara-Spain) about 9 years. From there he went to Madrid to do Dj sets with his aka Dujay in various popular nightspots of the capital like the Circulo de Bellas Artes, Mondo and Maxime between others, in addition in the early 2000s he is the founder of the underground parties Darkbeat, programming deep trance and progressive house, pioneers in the city. Working with these sounds allowed him to warm up James Holden the first time he visited Spain in 2003. Evolving his skills, he delved into music production, mastering various instruments and exploring sound therapy rooted in shamanic practices. Antonio gives regular sound therapy sessions and journeys using his Tibetan Singing Bowls, Shamanic Drum and other ancient instruments. His talent has been recognized on a global stage, with his track featured at the London Music Conference in 2020 playing a set at fabric@london. This global recognition is a testament to his skill and creativity. Currently, he's immersed in his studio, Elul, recently completing an indie electronic EP with Miss Zagato, and recent releases on Initiate Rec., Piranha Siberia Dub, Blue Lotus and Something Spæcial label. Francesco is  a Venice based producer who focuses on dub techno sounds with bass lines borrowed from techno and deep house, with the final aim to to build a “melting Electronic”: sometimes hypnotic, sometimes raw, sometimes groovy. 

This man’s output knows no bounds.
His productions have appeared on some incredible labels, Ecoul Snd, Piranha Siberia Dub, Superordinate Dub Waves, Techenie, Crossfade Sounds, Melotonin, Liberty Rhythm, Apnea Label, Velvet Dub Collective…the list goes on.
I’m pretty sure he records in his sleep!

For Our 16th trip around the musical cosmos we welcome to the controls a German artist who we have been a fan of for some time. With Releases on some of the top dub techno labels including , Greyscale, OHM Series and Vuo Records, we are proud to be able to host this mix from Armin Bender.

Armin is an artist who has been involved in the dub techno scene for 30 years, he is a passionate Vinyl collector, DJ and producer. An understated artist who goes about his work in a quiet and professional manner. 

This is summed up in his short but sweet biography - 

"Mind rave, goose bumps, deepness, groove, a smile on the face. Thats what its all about... No more words necessary, no history, no credits, no stereotypes, just the music that I love, preferably on vinyl... Peace!"

We thank Armin for his contribution to the series, its another fantastic mix filled some some audible delights including tracks from Dana Ruh, Pablo Bolivar, Matt & Mark Thibideau as well as the beautiful early track by DJ Sandwich on OGE White. For over 20 years Martin Jarl was something of an anomaly in my record collection. At the turn of the century, I was largely buying records on the likes of Deepchord, Salz, Nurture, Bluetrain & Minus THX. I'd also been following the emergence of some labels pushing the more minimal sound for a couple of years, the likes of Out to Lunch, Playhouse & Raum...musik. After the closure of Atlas in Soho I habitually shopped in Smallfish; and I remember adding Martin's Weetabix EP to the listening pile. Upon hearing it I immediately bought two copies, and for the next two decades considered it one of my 'desert island discs'. 

By 2024 both copies were hammered and full of surface noise, and what started out as a tentative ask for some wav files, turned into an opportunity to re-release a track from one of my favourite records. Frankly I could've gone for any of the four tracks. Whether Martin knew to what extent or not; including a remaster of the title track in last year's V/A compilation was a really special moment in lempuyang's journey. Naturally I also asked him if he'd be up for recording a mix for the series. Martin is anything but prolific, and good things truly come to those who wait.

Tim Brady aka DJARUM dove into the electronic music scene while living in the Netherlands in the mid 90’s. After attending several outdoor festivals and underground clubs, he instinctively began to purchase vinyl, and upon his return to CA started to build a life around the thriving LA rave scene.

PurpleHaze Entertainment was created in the late 90’s by Tim and a few other like minded individuals who shared the passion and drive to throw quality underground events ranging from warehouse parties and after hours, to mountain and desert parties. After many moons and sleepless weekends, Tim’s involvement in the scene had slowed, but his passion for collecting quality underground music, a dedication to improve his skills, and continued honing of his craft has grown immensly over the years.

His sound would best be described as dark and bass heavy, tech house and progressive techno. Keep posted for monthly mixes, and gigs via SoundCloud and Twitter pg.
