This mix was created when Damian and Martin joined forces in a rare musically alternative back to back session when they met up in Tulum  after having played The Day of Dead in different cities around Mexico.

Age Of Love - The Age Of Love (Solomun Renaissance Remix)

An artist who continues to chart a path to success among the brightest stars, Matter, is a man on a mission. A regular on Proton Music, he now returns to our flagship imprint with a second original EP, as "We Are Dust" coalesces in two outstanding tracks.

From his home on the sun-kissed Melbourne coast, Matty Doyle, has joined the underground dance industry's top table with increasing regularity. Through his Matter production soubriquet, the Australian producer has perfected the art of international DJ success both at home and in London, while simultaneously producing a distinctive and unique brand of "deep synth lines, driving bass and pulsating rhythms" – fundamental tenets of the Matter "signature sound". Translating this sonic architecture into commercial success has found the Matter name allied to a host of blue chip labels with a rapidly growing 250 production credits within his arsenal. Balkan Connection, Stellar Fountain and JOOF are among the numerous imprints to bear witness to the Matter sound with the latter's Aura label featuring July 2017's "Lost in Time EP" in collaboration with Universal Harmonics.

A regular on Proton Music with fellow countryman, GMJ, the duo has been responsible for some of the finest modern underground progressive house, centred around October 2016's "Superposition" and June 2017's "Osmosis" EPs. In solo guise, remixes of Biologik, Dousk and Cristian R have been noteworthy additions to the Proton catalogues, while December 2016's twin-track, "Pronoia", illustrated Matter's outstanding attention to detail. As we welcome him back for a second outing, "We Are Dust" is a stellar follow-up.

The title track is redolent in the trademark Matter foundations as shuffling hi-hats meld with thunderous kick. Intricate percussive detail in synth riff and rasping bass note create a wondrous hypnotic rhythm as a collage of textured pads and delay-drenched freeform melody supply an ethereal quality. Reaching an unencumbered zenith at the breakdown, "We Are Dust" picks up the pace in the second half to hallmark a track of 24 carat gold.

Partner track, "Star. Rock." continues the rhythmic prowess of its predecessor as a warm trademark bass line provides immediate richness and atmosphere. Building elegantly through white-noise washes and airy meandering motif, pulsating pads throb gently across the mid-range. Revelling in a stripped back breakdown, the third movement provides dance floor joy as melody and rhythm converge once more in hypnotic fashion.

A twin-track offering sees Matter look to the stars to find a very bright future in "We Are Dust".
