Dreaming In Turquoise

I wrote this track with Ilya Goldberg (aka Lapa) after a surprise birthday party.  One of the gifts I received was a gorgeous tambura which is heavily featured in this song. 

The song is an amalgamation of ancient strings, violins, rich spring reverbs, found percussion, ripping paper, burning weeds, and a dash of tequila.

The first time we met @luanaschwengber was in July 2017 in Amsterdam when she came together with Ricardo Vincenzo to one of our love summer gatherings. We kept in touch, met in February 2018 at Festival Nomade in Chile and she told us that she started creating her own sets. Two month later we got to listen to her first set and we absolutely loved it, so we are happy to have her now contributing Lovecast 59. MA/AM’s new single “Find Another Way” finds the Vancouver duo exploring a deeper side of their usual feel-good brand of dance music. A thundering bassline, backed with atmospheric chords and arpeggiated synths, set the stage for the duo’s Adam Bigg’s melancholic vocals for the near-7 minute journey. The remix features a chopped up blend of sampled drums by Vancouver artist Tor. Tor fips MA/AM’s efort into an exotic broken beat piece ripe with tribal chants, swelling synths and Tor’s signature percussion.
