His selection makes him a connoisseur of rarities like few with an exquisite taste and audacity for mixing, where he effectively combines all of the above. Flavio, besides holding 25+ years experience and worked in more than 7 record shops, founded "Recycled" 5 years ago, a beautiful store located in the legendary Calle de la Palma 39, with vast history connected to the Records world in Madrid.

Exit Planet Earth 013 by Ralph Lawson

We got a special mix for you this fine Friday! Our very own resident Rodney has crafted a one of a kind mix to start off our Housepitality Resident Mix Series! 
Rodney has been an avid Housepitality attendee for years before his DJ career began. Inspired by the infectious vibe of the local underground scene, his vinyl collection was already becoming one of unique taste. His devotion to vinyl became noticed by our O.G. resident Tyrel Williams who saw the talent before him and took him under his wing like his mentors Miles Maeda and Justin Aulis Long did, thus extending the lineage to him. Rodney became a serious student of the craft and put thousands of hours required to blend his wax. He showed serious interest and intention to become a Housepitality resident to Tyrel Williams in which he told Rodney to make a mix for me, Miguel. Using his newly fine-tuned ear he put this mix together that’s dear to him and showcases his respect and love for Housepitality. 
Around 2018 when looking for a new resident for Housepitality, Rodney came to mind. His weekly attendance to our parties, increasing amount of local bookings, an epic set played at Sunset Campout and also opening for Housepitality events with the likes of Tin Man and BMG, it was a no brainer. I simply loved his energy, his constant improvement in the craft and getting shouts from some of our very own local heads. I called him and asked him if he would be a resident and he did not hesitate to join the squad.
In July 2020, a few weeks after Rodney had played one of the best 3 hour sets of the year on our Housepitality Transmissions stream, he contacts me to tell me he had made me a mix exclusively for Housepitality. Originally an audition mix that was in the works to join Housepitality, Rodney had made a mix true to his heart- the love of wax and a tribute to those who have mentored him. Rodney still submitted the mix even after two years being a resident DJ for Housepitality already. I was startled by the story and was excited to hear about this mix. I spent the time and put on the headset and enjoyed 1:10:50 of pure underground house music vinyl mixing magic by Rodney. I can hear the Miles Maeda lineage as the tracks are carefully chosen and mixed appropriately to create a sensation, a feeling while simultaneously sharing his environment. Rodney is devoted to the utter essence of vinyl mixing and the ‘jak,’ spirit that makes the underground so special. The unexplainable beats that overtake you and leave you no other option but to move your body. A special treat for those of the dance floor and afar… give us a follow and comment when you’ve had a listen!
