Welcome back to a long awaited  Live from SPEED instalment of our mix series. For this next edition, we take you back to 24th February 2023, where SPEED teamed up with local promoter crew to Present Julia Govor. Here is Julia's recording from that special event.

A superstar techno producer with her own innovative and unique sounds, Julia Govor is the founder and curator of record label JUJUKA, as well as the co-founder of Radial. Currently based in New York, Julia has recently been featured on Bandcamp Daily as a best new Music producer. 

With original productions that the media has described as Rare, Beguiling and Mind filling, teamed with her dense, vivid DJ sets, Julia is enthusiastic and energetic with a charismatic fatal charm. Govor knows how to move and make others feel and engage.

This month's mix comes from Glasgow-based DJ and producer, Scott McKay, aka https://soundcloud.com/fear-e Scott run the 'Posh End Music' label.

Fear-E's music, to me at least, is raw, jacking, acid-fueled, twisted that is delivered with a bang. One of my personal favorites is 'Bouncing Out Of The Dark' on Dame Music. But so many more to check out. 

He has released his own original material on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams/Don't Be Afraid/Hilltown Disco/Dark Entries/Super Rhythm Trax/Takeout/Zone/Avoidant/Street Tracks/Dame-Music/Co-Accused/Outerworld/Das Booty. His productions have been supported by several artists including Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Paul Woolford, Skream, Leftfield, and Andrew Weatherall.

He delivers a no-compromising banging techno mix but yet has quite a unique style. Play loud and enjoy!

We've been doing our mix series for 6 years now but, as a lot of you know, we have a wealth of talent working behind the counter or packing your orders. A lot of us DJ, have a radio show or produce music and now we wanted to highlight some of our colleagues and give you an insight into what each of one us like.  In the ongoing lockdown, we wanted to shine a light on some our dedicated crew. 
First up is Govind aka Kylin Tyce - who you will find working most weekends at the shop. You may know some of his releases on Tesselate or OldiVibes where his intricate minimal house and UK Garage-flavoured productions sit proudly on our wall racks! So enjoy an hour of perfectly-mixed house music from Kylin Tyce!

Hogeko started her career in 2017 as a DJ in Osaka, Japan. She brings a fresh, new way of delivering techno music that is innovative and mesmerizing, that will surely give any techno enthusiast an experience they will never forget. Three years ago was her first experience visiting a club in Osaka. It was here that her passion for techno music began. At first it was only pure curiosity about the DJing world; she never imagined that looking at the DJ equipment would leave such a mark and amazing impression. That passion continued as she researched more about techno music and continued to be inspired. She may be young and inexperienced in this industry, but her natural talent in the techno world is undeniably remarkable and hard to ignore. The charisma of her tracks can take anyone to a different dimension, and bring a variety of experience to the avid listener. As expected for any artist, she got her inspiration from the world class DJs Cio DʼOr and Nina Kraviz, combining each of their styles. But she also wanted to showcase her own unique style and elements which are very vivid in her tracks. According to her, her personality is very bubbly but she can also be very deep at times. Her versatile sound, or what she calls her chameleon-like music, expresses all her moods that various people can relate to. Her tracks switch from gothic themes to more vibrant sound displays, plus melancholic and galactic sounds with a touch of some traditional Japanese elements to give an element of surprise in the techno world. She wants to stay true to her culture but with a mysterious and adventurous twist. She started producing in 2018 and published her own ʼʼKAKUSE EPʼʼ at Betrieb Records. In the next breath, she published ʻʼKAMIHITOE EPʼʼ at DREIZEHIN SCHALLPLATTEN. She was one of the DJs playing in ALZAR, JOULEA and is still very active in the techno arena. You can find Hogeko in the underground scene of techno music.
