In November 2014, singer-songwriter Craig Donovan independently released his solo EP, Canopy, which was part of the  genesis of the band, PLAIN WONDER.  DESOLATE appears as the lead track on the EP and has become one of the band's signature songs.

Here is the tail end of the first radio broadcast on August 27, 2015 of "Thick and Thin" (C. Donovan) on U92FM College Radio of the University of West Virginia on August 27, 2015.  The recording of the broadcast's tail end was done with voice memo on my iPhone (I apologize for the poorer quality) but had to reach for it quick. The photo is from that incredible creative evening when Mike Lewis and I recorded the song with Doug Smith at Shab Row Recording Studios, Frederick. MD. I am posing with my Rickenbacker 360 and Mike is with his Minarik Lotus Series electric guitar.

PLAIN WONDER's style is influenced by seminal Western and Eastern rock (Japanese indie), folk, punk, and alternative as well as jazz and traditional Spanish classical guitar in conjunction with its own American musical roots. As a result, PLAIN WONDER'S original songs maintain a balance of full guitar strumming, fast-paced tempos, edgy guitar riffs, upbeat and syncopated rhythmic flow and gorgeous fingerpicked arpeggios with hook-like melodies, soaring harmonies, and heartfelt lyrics and vocals. PLAIN WONDER continues to to evolve its unique sound and blur the boundaries of various musical genres.
