A project unveiled for the first time last summer, Solid Grooves' 'Raw Grooves' series welcomed the first-ever Various Artists project on sister label Solid Grooves Raw, and in the process introduced a slick selection of grooveheavy, stripped back yet powerful cuts from some of the label's core family members and closest friends.

Now back for its second installment, early-May sees label favourites Eddy M, Blackchild (ITA), and Ramin Rezaie joined by a wealth of leading names and rising talents as they welcome UK hotshot Latmun for his label debut, South Coast duo Prok | Fitch, who step out on sister label Raw for the first time following their huge single 'Indiance', recent Solid Grooves debutant Wheats, returning Manchester-based talent Kreature, and fast-rising London pairing, Antss and Ash-R.

If you don’t know about Mendo by now, ‘Let Me Tell You Something’ about one of key figures of the house underground.  The celebrated DJ, producer and remixer always goes big on putting on the cream of new talent for his world famous Clarisse imprint, now over 20 years in the mix, but equally loves to show everyone with an informed pair of ears how he’s still getting down with new material. Hot Creations, Crosstown Rebels, Defected, Rekids, Toolroom and Get Physical Music have all become Mendo hotspots over the years, but Clarisse remains where it’s at.
 
His latest creation (following ‘Single Ladies’ and the ‘Minimal Flavour’ EP) is the label’s trademark brand of deep house, this one with the feel of something tropical: it’s as if Mendo is bringing club vibes up through the undergrowth, stirring up something in the atmosphere below that you can feel before you hear. An electrifying soul vocal gives the track vitality to hold onto, reaching the conclusion that love is the answer in tough times and earning a standing ovation on the breakdown. Mendo then goes about sprinkling a pick-n-mix of sonic patterns across the beats - synth graffiti, tub-thumbing percussion – to keep the track slithering. Now go tell the world.

He may only be 21 years old, but Plain Zero has been honing his craft for over 6 years now. Between this project, and the previous Oblvvn project, Plain Zero has held a longstanding residency at Canberra’s longest running nightclub, Mooseheads, as well as performing at numerous other clubs around Australia.

 

A DJ/producer with his feet firmly in the tech house world, but with far reaching tastes in music, Plain Zero is known to combine his own style with club and party anthems that make the crowd move and sing-a-long. He is a real all-rounder that doesn’t look out of place on many line-ups.

 

Proving to be a real double threat, 2025 has seen a big focus on Plain Zero’s production. He has released a series of club anthem remixes and mash-up packs, racking up thousands of Soundcloud listens and getting spun in clubs across the country. It’s safe to say Plain Zero has a big future in this game.
