When Andrea Parker steps up to the plate you know there is going to be no compromise. As boss of Touchin’ Bass and aperture her vision of electro and electronic music comes together in one unique aesthetic. A landscape where Stockhausen, Drexciya, Coil, Daphne Oram and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Schooly D, Aphex Twin, Delia Derbyshire, Autechre, Adidas and Booty Bass collide. Her mix in the EPM Podcast series slices open the underbelly of contemporary avant-garde electronic production and lays its festering carcass in the middle of the dancefloor. From the aforementioned Drexciya to North Manc Beds, Russell Haswell and Regis to Christian Vogel, Einoma to Monolake and Surgeon to Coil, Parker’s initial love of film and cinematic soundscapes connects the flow of her music as much as any beat or break. Perhaps the New York Metro summed up her style best: "Andrea Parker...she may be a lady but she ain't dainty - picking hard, solid bass-heavy beats to slam you with.  She doesn't traffic in the happy-as-a-robot variety of electro, some of her choices are darker than what most people have come to associate with electro, and sometimes it literally feels like she's taking you for a ride down the street like a Mafioso, holding your head out of the side of a car just inches away from the pavement! She is the organiser and resident DJ of the open-air party 'rural', as well as promoter she invites unique international artists such as CUTHANDS and DOLPHINS INTO THE FUTURE. 

She plays a variety of genres, mainly techno, from experimental music to
ambient, disco and ethnic music, and has developed a unique, yet groovy and hypnotic style.

She have played at big festivals such as FUJIROCK FESTIVAL , a wide variety of domestic venues, and streamed on Dommune and frequently appear on LA's NTS radio, among others.

From Asia, e.x. Taiwan's Taipei Art Book Festival and at Ain and Seendosi in Seoul , Korea, to LA with Secret Circuit, at OutPut in New York and at The Block in Tel Aviv, and so on. Her success has left a solid mark on the international scene. as well.

"This mix was put together from the Italo-disco records that I enjoy playing the most in my DJ sets, regardless of value/rarity. I also tried to choose tracks with a summer feeling to them. As a result I had a lot of fun making this mix, as opposed to the clinical feeling that sometimes happens when trying to perfect a studio mix. 

One of my favorite travel memories is hunting for Italo-disco records in the crazy Italian summer heat and cooling down with amazing gelato some years ago in Firenze - hopefully the listener can feel a bit of that." George Hysteric

In the early 80s I began to spin my Dad´s Kraftwerk records when I was still a little boy...
In 1989/90 I got infected with Dance Music/Techno Music!
In 1999 I discovered Italo-Disco and it really had a big influence on my life and my taste of music... 
Music is one of my biggest passions and I want to play and share the music I like.
I am pretty much a "vinyl only" DJ and almost every mix on this page is done mainly with vinyl or only a few CDs involved!I am inspired by too many to mention.
Just thankful that I can play all these great records and marvellous music by great artists,producers,DJs,musicians!
