The Bournemouth based producer found his roots in hazy, lo-fi productions back in 2018, with a debut underground release on the Viceworks imprint. Since then, Mr. Sosa’s music has been sending his career on an ascendency, with support from many of the scene’s top DJs and artists. His recent releases on labels such as Anjunadeep, Last Night On Earth label, Needwant Records & FFRR have gone down a storm.

Mr. Sosa brings us his 'Joy of Pain EP' that sends us on a trip of anthemic and uptempo beats, with a massive nod back to the Jungle and Garage roots we all loved. The leading track 'Joy of Pain' is a perfect mix of early garage with a blend of nu school menacing breaks fused with a catchy vocal. Following on from the leading track we have two sublime jungle inspired weapons that round off the EP perfectly in a state of awe.

It was beneath the ground, a long way down. Here on the surface it was hard to begin to imagine what it might take to get there and whether they might be able to come back up once they had. Perhaps that was the mystery of it all – the great downward spiral and the rabbit hole to the sunken place.

Everything was happy up here, was it all smiles down there? Everything was bright up here, was it dark down there? Everything was warm up here, was it cold down there?

The sunken place was aloof and beyond what we might ever know, or want to know.

Remotif is a familiar producer who has released a steady stream of wicked, futuristic yet nostalgic records on the likes of X-Kalay, Coymix and Pleasant Life. Now he releases a new record on Emotional Especial. It’s perhaps his most sophisticated to date.

I wrote this for my sweet boy Marty. It's a guide for his soul to transcend into bliss and be free from pain and to flourish in the afterlife.

I feature his breathing in the intro to the track. And I feature his bark at the end to represent that he has transcended into the blissful afterlife but that he will always be with me in spirit.

The Ishtar Gate, the second album from Peaky Beats, is a bold and electrifying fusion of UK bass pressure and the deep-rooted musical traditions of the Arab world and ancient Mesopotamia. Named after the iconic gateway of Babylon, this ten-track Arab-Bass opus channels a hypnotic blend of deep sub-bass, syncopated breaks, and gritty low-end with haunting maqam scales, intricate darbuka rhythms, and reimagined motifs from Iraq, Syria, and beyond. From the ominous opener Spirit of Evil to the skanking sway of Tigris Riddim, each track pulses with its own identity—melding UK sound system energy with Arabic modal mysticism. Standouts like Gilgamesh and Cats of Arabia evoke mythic landscapes, while Qita and Meyhane drift into smoky, late-night territory. At the core is the title track, The Ishtar Gate—a towering, Acid-soaked anthem that bridges ancient echoes with futuristic breaks. Both a dancefloor weapon and a cultural statement, this is a sonic excavation and reinvention.
