The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Brutalismus 3000. One of our favorite Berlin projects returns with a new track on the upcoming DURCH v/a compilation: Solidarity 002 - A Love Letter To The Queer Community. DURCH is a queer collective with a clear vision of solidarity and community building. DURCH operates in Tel Aviv and Berlin trying to bring queer people together, building a culture of inclusion, diversity and tolerance. In the tradition of original raves DURCH organizes solidarity events ranging from parties, to art and community events, with the strong belief that raves are a much needed place for people to come together, celebrate their diversity and learn to respect each other.

After releasing their first v/a earlier in the year, The are back with their second solidarity release of the year: Bolder, queerer and definitely more fun than ever. Take a bit of everything, mix it together and then burn it all down. Building on our previous release DURCH [digital] Solidarity 002 features some well established artists alongside some exciting, well-kept secrets of the electronic dance music scene. You’re in for a bumpy ride and a couple of pretty nasty surprises on the way. Today we bring you the nu gabber post techno punk of "Satan Was a BabyBoomer". 

As always, the proceeds from the release go to Queer causes and this release will benefit TransInterQueer e.V. (TrIQ) and Casa Kuà. Out on April 16th and you can get yours on BANDCAMP.

DJ Gigola is a shape shifter and she comes in many forms and colours. Since her debut EP “Tender Trance” with Kev Koko, she has worked in a variety of collaborative efforts blurring boundaries between Techno and Pop music. For her first ever solo EP, DJ Gigola moves away from ethereal vocals to portraying her own signature club sound in an exploration focussed on rhythm and groove structures. Drawing from a multi-facetted palette of musical genres, DJ Gigola’s productions recontextualize references to rave culture into a refreshingly breezy high energy feel. Think crunchy baselines, frivolous melodies and euphoric breakdowns layered with complex percussive structures and catchy vocals. In combining her passion of being a front-row dancer with her experience as a performer, DJ Gigola weaves together a three-track EP that follows a simple thread: get everyone in the mood to dance.
The EP and its title track are aptly named “In the Mood”, with the single set to be released on the 14th of July. The EP itself will be available from 09.09.2022 in both digital and physical formats.

The original mix of ‘I Wanna Rave’ opens, as the name would suggest employing a gritty rave-tinged aesthetic via choppy, delayed stab sequences, thunderous saturated drums, skippy breaks and an amalgamation of vocal chants.
Production maestro KiNK steps in to rework ‘I Wanna Rave’ next, delivering his typically raw and dynamic style, extracting the core elements of the original and reshaping them alongside
additional twitchy electronic bass, reduced drums and ever unfolding, modulating filter work.

Denis Matenda is a rather new act on the Gothenburg trance scene.
He was born in Sweden by Croatian parents. Already at school, he started to fiddle around with keyboards and played in a band. Once finishing his military service, he took a long break from music and went travelling around the world, worked as a diving instructor and opened up a kickboxing club. He even works as a bouncer at our favourite rock club. While studying economy, he decided to pick up music production again and give it a proper go.After borrowing other artists studios for a while, he decided to invest in his own equipment.
Releases on Spirit Zone, Medium and Transient soon followed. Even though not connected to the other acts from Gothenburg he shares the same musical background and influences, a bit of funk, a bit of rock and a huge devotion to Jean-Michel Jarre and early electronic music; something that can be easily heard on his debut album, Energy Loader. The sound is what can easiest be described as trademark Gothenburg trance, or the sound of Spiral Trax.
