We are so excited to announce that Gimme A Break’s “WE ARE VIABLE” compilation will be released on Friday 13th November!!!! Over the last few months we have been extremely lucky to work with 15 producers from Leeds and further afield to curate an album of UKG, breakbeat, techno and jungle edits. ALL of the proceeds from this compilation will be donated to MAP, a Leeds-based charity providing alternative music education to young people who cannot access mainstream schooling. In these trying times, we must support charities such as MAP which are integral to the North’s creativity and vibrant music scene.

Finally, we’d like to say an enormous thank you to Alex Kubis and Ben Mercer who have designed the pengggg album artwork for this project. So happy with how these have turned out! Whack those coordinates into google and see where ya end up :)

Scuffed Recordings line up the sixth instalment of their Scuffed Presents series, with four artists from the Scuffed roster stepping up to remix tracks from the label catalogue.

The Scuffed Presents remix compilations have become an annual tradition for the Scuffed schedule each summer, with previous remixes coming from the likes of Nikki Nair, Marshall Applewhite, Stones Taro, and label founders Ian DPM and Wager.

On 2021’s edition of the series, the label welcomes Farsight, Fiesta Soundsystem, Dubrunner, and An Avrin to put their spin on their favourite Scuffed tracks – resulting in a fresh and wide-reaching mix of sounds.

Closing out the release is Londoner @4navr1n, whose wonky, idiosyncratic style is on show all over his remix of Dubrunner’s ‘Destination Unknown’.

Leeds-based producer Bertie debuts on Noire State with a two-track release exploring weighty bass and rolling breakbeats.

Manchester collective Noire State was founded in early 2020 primarily as a party series, but with the COVID pandemic putting the brakes on events across the world, they quickly pivoted to starting a label and mix series, showcasing the cutting edge of UK underground club music.
Having so far put out releases from Oldboy and Indent, Noire State’s third release comes from newcomer Bertie, who has been picking up momentum with radio plays on BBC Music Introducing, Rinse, Balamii and SWU FM.

Title track ‘Tinyard’ shows the versatility of Bertie’s productions with a harder-edged approach aimed squarely at the dancefloor.

Brighton-via-London duo Heritage return to Scuffed Recordings with brand new garage track ‘Chrome’, out 11th February 2022 on the Scuffed Bits singles series.

Heritage last appeared on Scuffed in 2020 with their ‘Revelation’ EP, and the title track has since become one of the defining tracks from the UK label. The EP saw wide-reaching support from the likes of Oneman, SHERELLE, Anz, and Moxie, and showed Heritage’s diverse production chops from upbeat breaks to moody, heads-down UK bass.

Now making their return to Scuffed, Heritage present ‘Chrome’, which leans heavily on the duo’s UK garage influences with a swung groove, pulsing bass, and undulating synths.

Scuffed Bits started in January 2022 as an outlet for digital-only singles, launching with ‘Purple Hilt’ from 95Bones and Scuffed co-founder Wager. Scuffed Bits will run alongside the main Scuffed Recordings schedule with new releases each month from artists on the Scuffed roster as well as friends of the label.

‘Chrome’ will be released on Scuffed on all digital platforms on 11th February 2022.

@Greazus return to the Leipzig-based label with a 4 track EP, influenced by UK hardcore, jungle, and electro and with a clear focus on taking raver's hearts by storm.
Or to put it in their own words: "This record is our love-letter to good ole' warehouse rave days. The era that we both think back fondly to, that inspired us, and where we cut our teeth musically."

"WTF" is an absolute belter of a tune, clocking in at 160 bpm, and provides relentless, fierce energy as soon as you hit the play button.
The tangy acid synth and nostalgic sample use in combination with sharp breaks sum up to an incredible production, that will leave no limb unshaken!

For our first edit, Manchester-based Slim Shae has whipped up a steaming electro remix of Ojerime’s Give It Up 2 Me. With bouncing basslines and crispy drums, Shae follows on from his previous release on The Lock In compilation released by Leeds-based label 199.
