First-Lady of Detroit and longtime member of the Planet E Communications family DJ Minx (@djminx) continues the label’s thirty year anniversary celebration with her ‘Do It All Night’ EP, out on 12” and digital platforms January 28. The EP features a peak time remix from the stratospheric talent Honey Dijon (@honeydijon) alongside a C2 edit from Carl Craig himself, a powerful package from some of global clubland’s most revered names.

‘Do It All Night’ puts forth a sunk back slice of Detroit house built to move and jack with abandon. It's the type of simplistic 303 drum programming and energy building synth work we’ve come to expect from Minx, a veteran of the less-is-more philosophy of all-night dancefloor mastery. Honey stacks on the intensity with her remix while restructuring the tune for harder dance floor moments, while Carl’s edit leans on subtle arrangement changes to breathe his own signature sound into the original.

DJ Minx is a central figure in Detroit's dance music history, learning to DJ in the late 80s, then holding a vital residency at Motor Club, hosting long-running radio shows in the city for WGPR and CJAM. She’s been a fixture at Detroit’s Movement Festival since 2000, and will curate a stage for the festival in 2022. Her Women on Wax collective and label have sought to champion Black female artists since its inception in 1996. DJ Minx is a recipient of the Spirit of Detroit award for her contributions to the city's cultural landscape, and was named as one of the 20 Women who Shaped Dance Music by The Black Madonna and Mixmag. Minx has been prolific in 2021, delivering high profile mixes for Resident Advisor and Groove, and covering the December issue of DJMag, dropping the politically charged single Blind Amerikkka, an EP for He.She.They and coming out publicly during Pride.

Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy are thrilled to announce the first Peach Discs release of 2023 – Nachtbraker's 4-track Capichone EP.

Inspired by the sound of 90s Dutch and Italian house and dial-up modems, it's an EP that goes in hard on the melodies, anchoring them to propulsive, loose-limbed drum tracks and wrapped up in wiggly arrangements.

This is the splendid deep follow up EP by our favorite Liverpool artist Petals In Sound. After her great label debut last summer where she already showed us her wonderful atmospheric electronic sound, she now continues on a journey through that same spaced-out house territory. “Dial Tone” and “Lush” are both laid back groovers that sooth every dancefloor and are perfect late, or better, early hours tunes to steer dancers gently towards sunrise and out of smoke filled clubs, homewards with warm musical memories of a danced and spaced out night.

“The Sea and Everything in It” is a personal fave here as it combines great percussive rhythms with her unique style, arpeggios and dark synths electronica, deep like a warm spring day. The outdoor raves will be a perfect setting for this one! Last we asked our other new label member Pete Bandit from Berlin to remix “Lush”. With his own debut “Wild Feelings” he already set the tone showcasing his expert percussive and driving house sound. Here again he turned the original into a loopy “New York House” style jam with cool funky drums that fit in perfectly with the other tracks and make this whole EP a tight and delightful package. As a DJ and promoter Rick Wilhite has been holding it down for over 20 years, and his 'Vibes - New & Rare music' record store has been a main source in Detroit for soulful electronic music until it's closure. The tracks selected for the 'Vibes New & Rare Music' compilation truly represent the artists, Wilhite says. After releasing Vibes 1 in 2010, he delivers the sequel, featuring pioneers and new talents alike from Detroit, Chicago and New York.
