Far from the hype, Kriss Life Recorder has been plowing his path on the French and international underground House-Techno scene for over 20 years. Hooked by Afro-American music and the arrival of the Techno movement in France in the early 90s, his heart naturally leans towards the culture, soul, and groove of Detroit and Chicago. Originally from the French suburbs of Geneva, he began frequenting record stores and clubs between France and Switzerland before settling in Marseille.

The Life Recorder identity was born in 2006 with the first steps in production. Over time, Kriss became one of the French representatives of a “Deep” sound influenced by Detroit and a certain musical vision. 2012 will be the year his music will be spotlighted with the ep “No Look Back” on Detroit DJ/Producer Keith Worthy’s label “Aesthetic Audio”. A record that will resonate, travel and give birth to new connections and new releases on labels like “Bokhari” in UK, “Hizou” in Spain or “Sound Reflexion” in Chicago. Faithful to his influences but keeping an open mind, Kriss created his own label “Life Notes Recordings” in 2017 where he can express himself with freedom.
On the DJing side, we have been able to find him through the years behind the decks showing his ability to mix together Deep house and techno at Globus (Tresor)Berlin, Night Moves (Jane Fitz's party) in London..Paris, Manchester , Belgrade, Tbilisi to name a few...and with the Extend & Play collective in Marseille of which he is one of the founding members, and with whom he will participate in the revival of the local club scene and the opening of the Extend & Play record store (2015-2022).

2020 marks the beginning of a different world and in the middle of the chaos a reconnection with Switzerland since Life Recorder joins Alex and Stephane Attias's respected Lausanne label “Visions Recordings”and releases “Time Moods” Vol 1 and 2. A Big response for those records (Support by Ron Trent, DJ Deep, Laurent Garnier...) and an even bigger need for Kriss as time goes by to keep doing his thing and to preserve the culture.

For SensuCast 046, we welcome a truly special, and deeply missed, guest: the legendary KERSO.

As we depart the one-year mark of his passing, we continue to remember him in our own special way. As a DJ, a mentor to many, and an influencer (before it was a thing), Kerso was a pillar of the scene, whose passion was matched only by the depth of his knowledge. His record collection was legendary, easily rivalling anyone's, ranging from the rarest and most sought after Northern Soul, through every varying style of House and Techno.

To honour his immense legacy, this posthumous mix is a personal tribute. We have woven together four of our favourite mixes of his into one continuous journey. This special arrangement showcases his impeccable taste. We begin with a mix of Moodymann/KDJ only joints that takes us into a fun and interesting look through the Circulation back catalogue. The second half is focused on two of his healthy obsessions. Jeff mills and underground Resistance.
