Our first guest of 2023 is Martin Kühnel aka 'whatiswrongwithgrooving'. Designer, DJ and passionate groove seeker for decades, he runs a curated online shop found under the acronym WIWWG.COM. (https://whatiswrongwithgrooving.com/)

To warm up this mixtape series he compiled for us a mix of Balearic, laid-back 80s New Wave, relaxed Disco and House tunes. Some online store classics, all-time favorites and some of his latest vinyl discoveries. A true digger’s delight mixtape to start the new year!

Next up on our Guest Sessions is London-based DJ and producer @arniewrong, serving us a sun-filled journey full of classics exploring African, Brazilian, Italo and Polish sounds fused with Western boogie and disco.

Between producing electronic music soaked with club nostalgia and pop sentiments, Arnie is busy setting on fire some of London’s favourite dance floors. She also holds monthly radio residencies on Voices Radio and @loosefm serving up the best of funk, disco, Italo and boogie from all corners of the world.

Get loose and allow this music to transport you to warmer climates, cant go wrong with Arnie!

Up and coming power lady @vaemilija takes care of our next guestsession. The Brussels based energy queen provides us with percussions, grooves and heavy bass electro from start to finish. Play out loud!

Next up is Paris-Based DJ, digger and connaisseur Souldade (@simon-de-forni), who likes to navigates across eras and genres to unearth overlooked tunes. His edits and mixes carry you away to forgotten dream places, from sunbathed exotic poolsides to moist outmoded clubs.  

Travelling back and forth between his native Europe, Africa, Brazil, American cities and other Caribbean islands, the motto remains unchanged: move you and make you move.  

This mix makes no exception: tropical warm up, zouk, disco classics, frantic freestyle tracks and italo burners. Make sure your shoes are tightly tied up!

Introducing Seoul's eclectic record collector and DJ, known for his captivating mixes spanning Balearic, Boogie, RNB, and House from the '80s and '90s. With a global reach and recognition from respected DJs and music enthusiasts worldwide, Tucan Discos (@jae-zae) brings his vibrant sound to our latest guestmix.

Introducing Studio Batsumi, the London-based Italian DJ duo comprised of record collector Marta and music producer Fede. Celebrated for their unique mixes that blend Tribal House, African heaters, and downtempo grooves, they have made a significant mark on the London music scene since 2010. The duo's forthcoming guest mix teases a blend of chilled house, obscure electronic, and classic house/break tunes, also offering a sneak peek into an original track set to be released next year. Garnering international recognition, Studio Batsumi (@studiobatsumi) continues to charm listeners with their eclectic and innovative sound.

UK born and Utrecht based DJ and Rush Hour affiliate Bevan is up next on our series. His extensive musical background along with a Master’s degree in Musicology allows him to dive deeply into the discographies of his favourite producers and record labels, trying to find links between genres both sonically and historically. This search often leads to a soothing blend of modern soul, disco, boogie and house in his DJ sets. For our latest mix, he cooked up a special mixture of euphoric sounds to guide you through another sweaty weekend!

From enchanting, sultry house to igniting disco jams: the soulful element is always present in everything Guus Christian is involved with. From his work at Blauwdruk, as resident DJ for the long-running club night that hosted DJs like Mark Grusane, San Soda and Fred P. To his efforts behind the scenes, working as label manager for the recently launched Blauwdruk record label. Soothing and soulful tunes are the highlights of this guestmix. Enjoy!
