For the last Chrom release of 2022 we welcome back Dmitriy Shulgin on our label. Dmitriy made his Chrom debut 6 months ago on our "Chromologic X" Sampler under the alias 'Doppelganger'. His track "Contact" was heavily supported by Undercatt and became one of our biggest indie dance sellers on beatport this year.

So the next logical step is his own Chrom EP, this time under another new alias 'Do Magic', but in the same musical line. His EP is called "Hungry Corpse" and contains not less than 4 super catchy indie dance originals that will set every dancefloor on fire!

"Chrom head honcho Pedro Mercado hooked up with Dutch legendary DJ/producer Yves Eaux to create a brand new dancefloor stormer called "Chakra Khan", featuring the amazing vocals of Jay Davi!

It was right after their gig at Het Stadsfeest in Apeldoorn in Holland last year when Pedro and Yves decided to have a drink together to chill out. The duo was joined by American MC Jay Davi from Columbus (Ohio) who had his very first European performance at this sold out event. This was when the idea was born for a collab track and they immediately started to write some lyrics together. The day after they went into the studio where they laid the foundations for this remarkable gem called "Chakra Khan". It showcases not only the superb production skills of the two deejays, it also brings out the quality of Jay Davi as a vocalist. Although it is spoken word recording, Jay adds a strong and mesmerizing layer to the track bringing it up to a spiritual level. The result is truely outstanding! "Chakra Khan" has been road tested since then on various gigs and it turns out to work some real magic on the dancefloors. Crowds have a very strong response to it and people come up to the DJ booth asking for the track-ID. And now it's finally time for "Chakra Khan" to spread its positive vibes to the global dance floors.

On top of that both producers added their own remix: Yves Eaux adds his typical driving tech style, while Pedro Mercado delivers a beautiful Organic House interpreation by teaming up with his female partner Na Té under their alias AkpaLa."

'Dont look down' is a great opening track for your melodic techno set. Deep kick constant progression, synth pads, driving signature percussive progression. Beautiful piano lines and fantastic groove and atmosphere make this track an etheral journey. 'Before Sunrise' kicks it off harder with techno fx and filtered in hats to start the track. A mystic mesmerising repetitive vox synth progression drives the track forward, cut by synth chords, underlying pads and synth arps. A deep and groovy track with intricate fx, good progression and drive. Enjoy this one. Will work very well outdoors in your festival set, before the sun comes up. 'Flug der Störche' tells the tale of the voyage of these birds flying high in the sky migrating to their winter quarters. One debut follows another: Next up on Stil vor Talent Zoo Brazil and Anthony Middleton's “Good Times" combines the result of a longstanding friendship and their first incursion on the label while delivering a true dancefloor anthem.

Anthony Middleton kickstarted his career DJing in iconic Marbella clubs and refining production skills at a pioneering UK music technology school in the mid-90s. His musical journey led him to the vibrant dance music scene in London. Meanwhile, Zoo Brazil, also known as John Andersson, earned Grammy and Brit Awards nominations, solidifying his reputation as an innovative and respected figure in dance music.
Guided by a shared affinity for analogue exploration, the duo employed an arsenal of vintage and modern gear, including the Vintage ARP 2600, Moog Model D, SSL AWS 900+se Console, and more. The resulting composition, “Good Times,” has seamlessly woven haunting melancholy into an irresistibly groovy symphony.
As a testament to its prowess, the track has been a closely guarded secret weapon in the DJ sets of both Zoo Brazil and Anthony for over a year. The mindset behind its creation was one of spontaneity, a deliberate choice to let creativity flow unhindered. “Good Times” stands as an authentic reflection of their musical synergy, inviting listeners into a realm where friendship and innovation harmoniously converge.
