Ranging from straight forward pounding DJ tools like "Fbrz" or Berghain peaktime influenced tracks like "Nc" to dark broken beats like "Smn" and mysterious ambiences like "Lt". Avgusto proofed himself as a proper Vinyl-only DJ around Berlin and Europe and his releases get played my many credible Techno acts on a regular bases - def. someone to watch and follow if you are into rough, dark and uncompromising Techno.

DC172 comes on behalf of Brazilian born Vinicius Honorio, a now London based producer and DJ who is making some serious in-roads amongst a new breed of techno artists. Having already released on labels such as Pig&Dan’s Elevate and dubspeeka’s Skeleton, the next natural step in his progression comes in the form of a release on Drumcode. 

‘Through The Darkness’ is a masterclass in darkened techno grooves, with each one of the four tracks managing to show off Honorio’s skill as a producer and just why he is firing on all cylinders. The release kicks off with ‘Walking Shadow’, a track that has been a key part of Adam Beyer’s sets at the tail end of 2016 and in to the new year. This tense, brooding affair has certainly garnered a lot of attention of late and it’s clear to see why. The title track ‘Through The Darkness’ is a much more of a stripped back cut, jam-packed with a haunting vocal hook, driving basslines and slick drums. This is one for the late night mischief makers. ‘Desolate’ is another hard-hitter, managing to perfectly balance that signature Honorio groove and pounding drums that adds depth to his productions. The release closes with the atmospheric ‘Out For Blood’, which is loaded with vintage rave stabs and weighty basslines – This one is meant to played in dark and sweaty rooms.

'Liberta' means the start of something in Portuguese slang from the streets of Rio De Janeiro, where DJ and Producer Vinicius Honorio was born. It also can mean freedom, so his brand new label wants to create just that - freedom for artists to express themselves with music.

Gynoid Audio is an established outfit based in Australia, which is a member of the Elektrax Music collective of labels headed up by DJ Hi-Shock.

Trunkline are a collaborative French duo made up of good friends Madben and Yann Lean who have merged their sounds and showcase their talents in live sets. Production wise the pair have featured on a variety of labels ranging from Suara, Ellum, Bedrock, OFF Recordings, KMS and many more.

For this DT:Premiere we selected “Afterworld” as it’s full of angst and quick out the gate with a blasting beat. The abrasive build up of analogue tones set the scene for the almighty bleeping hook that lets you know it’s beginning to power up. The gothic tone and intense, rolling pulses will turn clubs and crowds upside down under its spell.

Drawing influence from his love of the early 2000's Deep Tech-House scene and twisting it with todays more familiar feel of Dub, Minimal, Deeper edged Techno, Valpy manipulates sounds into what he feels is right for the darker clubs & dance floors, creating a sound that does not follow suit, bending a few 'rules' along the way...

Using his many Clubbing experiences over the years in the UK, Ibiza, Amsterdam & beyond, Valpy has developed a passion for raw emotion filled techno, often challenging the sub woofers with his bass heavy touch, without busting the bank on the tempo front. A balance of 'good vs evil' can often be witnessed in a Valpy Techno piece

Fascinated with pitch & bass, Valpy has moulded and evolved his sound into what he produces today, recently gaining support from Pig & Dan, Ramiro Lopez, Dubspeeka & Matt Minimal, who also contribute to the style & development of his tracks, along with Alan Fitzpatrick, Adam Beyer, Joseph Capriati & Carlo Lio

Having had 2 EP's released on dubspeekas Skeleton Label and also with Seva Records, Plunk, Lethal Script & Berberris in 2014 alone, Valpy's sound has now been recognised by fast up and coming label Gain Records, (supported by the likes of Richie Hawtin) with a Solo Artist Album due for release in April 2015. There are also further releases on Skeleton and new outfit Kitchen Smoke pencilled in over the next couple of months too

To close, Valpy aims to produce music he wants to hear on the same dance floors that he frequented over the years, experimenting along the way to produce his own unique blend, with the odd twist & turn along the way...
