SHDW presents ‘Federation Of Rytm IV’: a bumper 30-track collection spanning the past, present, and future of techno. Offering powerful standalone club cuts and a cohesive deep-dive, the expansive VA lands on 24th October 2025.

The fourth edition of SHDW’s flagship ‘Federation Of Rytm’ VA series has been carefully curated by the DJ/ producer and head honcho over more than a year, with close attention to detail given to sequencing. It is a balance of label regulars and debutants that represents the past, present, and future, both sonically and through the generational diversity of the artists involved. There are plenty of surprises along the way while always remaining true to the Mutual Rytm ethos and reflecting the journey of the night from start to finish, whether that's in intimate, sweaty clubs or on big festival stages.

"I’ve lived with most of these tracks for over a year, testing them on the dancefloor and fine-tuning the selection. Each comes from artists I deeply admire, making this compilation a snapshot of the label’s evolution and a glimpse of what’s next. ‘Federation Of Rytm IV’ celebrates connection across generations, while capturing the sounds that inspire me most — telling a story from start to finish.” – SHDW.

Across 30 tracks in the digital collection and 24 on four sides of wax, the release explores the full breadth of the Mutual Rytm sound. Driving grooves and relentless percussion set the pace, gradually unfolding into hypnotic and atmospheric passages that invite deeper immersion. Pulsating low-end power alternates with eerie minimalism, while bursts of futuristic energy and cavernous kick drums keep the tension high. Elsewhere, dub textures and moments of introspection provide balance, creating a narrative arc that moves fluidly between intensity and release, atmosphere and tension, darkness and light.

Sounds from Beyond the Seven Lands is a boundary-pushing compilation uniting 16 visionary Hungarian techno producers, each shaping the local underground through their own distinct sonic lens. The title takes inspiration from Hungarian folklore, where “beyond the seven lands” evokes a gateway into tales of wonder and mystery, a fitting metaphor for the immersive soundscapes unfolding here.

From hypnotic grooves and driving rhythms to raw, textured explorations, this V/A highlights the diversity and vitality of Hungary’s underground. Each track feels like a passage through unseen terrains, bound together by a shared spirit of innovation and cultural resonance.

Prolific Italian producer Kaiser makes his long awaited debut on Soma with a perfectly executed 4 track EP, The Way Back. Having been present on the scene through releases with Planet Rhythm, Animal Farm and more recently his own K S R imprint, Kaiser's style is a mixture of abrasive, hypnotic Techno blended with element of minimalism, glued together with a solid amount of groove. 

Title track The Way Back reminisces to Birmingham-era UK Techno with it’s thundering rhythms and twisted synth hook. Tales Of The Future takes things on a more futuristic tip as spacial polyrhythms build the structure of this very functional track. Ramping up the pace a little more, Loud Cries builds incessantly as impulsive percussion drives this perfectly crafted tool. Clubbed to Death finishes off this Soma debut EP from Kaiser with a speedy broken beat as atonal pads and drones create a densely packed, atmospheric and climactic track.

Founded in 2000 by Spanish techno icon @cristianvarela, the now esteemed Black Codes Experiments imprint has, over the past two decades, forged itself a firm reputation as one of the most prestigious, forward-thinking labels on the international electronic music circuit.

Home to some of underground techno’s biggest hitters (Regis, Mark Broom, The Advent, Ken Ishii, Takaaki Itoh, Tensal, P.E.A.R.L and Arnaud Le Texier to name just a few) and often given the same reverence as labels such as Tresor, R&S and Music Man, what Cristian and his label partner Ian Axide have built over the past twenty years is nothing short of remarkable.

Now, as the label looks to continue this fine run of form into the new decade, Cristian’s long time label mate Ian Axide unveils his incredible new EP ‘Close To Hell’. A four-part package showcasing the very best in underground techno, Ian’s EP will be released on April 24. 

Best known for delivering highly experimental sounds and hypnotic atmospheres with a uniquely underground treatment, Black Codes represents a beacon of consistency and musical innovation as it continues to earn widespread international support from a growing legion of dedicated fans and techno followers the world over.

Analect has been DJing and producing under various different aliases since 2009, when he first made the surprisingly seamless transition from metal-guitarist to electronic music producer. 

3 years ago, he released his debut Album “The Uprising” through UK based label “@plus-ultra-654507949. Since then, he has gone on to release a string of EPS and remixes across labels such as @smashead-records, @technodrome-records-1 and @daskollektive. You may recognise him from his most recent release “Defined by Tyranny”, which is available now on Insane Industry. 

Always keen to play a part in the local music community, he set up Manchester-based collective and club night @niteschoolmcr alongside some friends in early 2018. This  allowed him to hone his craft DJing within the local scene, giving him the opportunity to play alongside a range of some of the biggest international names. 

In between gigs and his day-job, Analect was quietly working away on his production. His recent work has been gathering the attention of an increasing number of well-known names in the industry, and with numerous releases scheduled over the coming year across some exciting labels such as Crusade, Otomo Tracks, Sindex, and many more, 2020 looks set to be an exciting year for this producer.
