Cult has quietly become one of Ireland’s most essential techno exports in recent years. Hailing from Dublin, he’s an artist in constant motion, refusing to settle, always evolving. His approach is rooted in forward momentum, driven by a relentless curiosity for new sounds, textures, and sonic frontiers.

He first caught attention with a series of raw, loop-heavy techno releases on SoundCloud and Bandcamp, referencing the tribal, sample-based stylings of early 2000s techno. But rather than linger in nostalgia, Cult has pushed forward into uncharted terrain. His sound today is defined by a deep focus on sound design and atmosphere - futuristic and uncompromising. This shift hasn’t gone unnoticed; his productions have gained support from some of techno’s most respected figures and regularly appear in sets at the world’s most influential clubs and festivals.

His discography spans acclaimed labels like Molekul, Hardline, and Analytic Trail, and he’s also involved with AKTIVV, a Berlin-based label and collective that champions stripped-back, honest techno. More recently, he co-founded TwoFace with long-time collaborator Dylan Fogarty, a vinyl-focused label that embraces genre-fluid, boundary-pushing sounds.

As a DJ, Cult is a risk-taker. He's not interested in easy wins or genre conventions. His sets move seamlessly between techno, house, garage, dubstep, and whatever else feels right. This fearless, shape-shifting approach has landed him behind the decks at institutions like Rote Sonne, Sub Club, Crackhouse, and others across Europe.

Despite an increasingly impressive résumé, Cult remains low-key, eschewing the algorithm-driven hype cycles of social media in favour of letting the music speak for itself. In an era dominated by online personas, Cult is resolutely offline, dedicated to craft over clout. And it’s working.

Rinascimento Elettronico is an Italian label that launched their catalogue with a stunning VA that included artists like Arnaud Le Texier, Luca La Rocca, Translate, and many more. The second compilation entry includes more quality such as MTD, Hugo Rolan, iBOT, and Doug Cooney.

Linear System is a Costa Rica-based techno artist closely affiliated with Edit Select Records, which has released four of his five studio albums along with several EPs. His discography also includes respected labels like Symbolism, MATERIA, Dynamic Reflection, Illegal Alien, Molecular, BCCO, Blank Code, and his own imprint Modern Minimal, launched in 2022.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "AB5" with a throbbing and pulsing rhythm at its core. Spacey elements and soaking reverb add to the moody, grooving sonics in this trippy, cerebral and understated gem.
