@koryu_budo's third digital release comes from Perfo, known before as Discreet Haven. A young french producer based in Berlin. He offers four cuts of rugged, intense and textured techno named Sheathing Variations 1 - 4.

Variation number one starts with a solid kick drum and reverberated textures growing. More sonic elements join the equation as time evolves while everything is surrounded by phased drones ,mutating constantly as more percussive elements come along. No massive breaks, no sudden changes, detail and sound architecture at its best.

Number two shares similar feelings, a solid bass drum and reverberated ambiences to start with, shuffled percussive elements, resonant bleeps and more textured layers joining the dance. Every sound component has its place in the stereo field showcasing the studio skills of this producer.

On the virtual B side, Variation number three speeds the tempo, adds a synthetic groove bassline, preserves the density and texture of the previous but adding more melodic elements as well as a busiest rhythm approach. A peak time mixing tool.

Closing the release Variation four, same feelings as the previous numbers but moving the textures back, giving more presence to the sequenced components and using classic 909 rides and snares to spice the groove.
 
If you mix the four cuts in a row you can perceive how connected they are argumentally wise, as a soundtrack of a dystopian future.

DEAD CERT. Records is a label linked to the well known website deathtechno.com ran by Jack! Who? in the UK. A diverse palette has seen previous releases feature music from artists including Paul Mac, TWR72, Echoplex, Eomac and Petter B.

Aleksandar Grum aka Vakat is also known as Redial Tone who hails from Montenegro and returns with this new project following outings on Marcelus' Singular Records in Paris, and the Spanish stronghold Subsist.

"Switch" kicks things off with a raw, angular jam, wrapped in analogue grit and infectious electronic funk that tears forward with a jovial heart at its core.

Second up is "Thrill" that opts for a moodier approach. The rolling bottom end, pulsing phasers and deep chords add a menacing sensitivity to its otherwise energetic framework.

"Locked" is a slick and jackin' affair of raw modular tones that's dripping in 909 flavour and functionality at its best, with one thing in mind, to make you move.

Showing his production skills in full effect, "Flame" is a lesson in abstract grooves and rich sound design, for those who like raunchy, heady techno full of character and creativity.

Teksupport Records is a New York based imprint ran by Kareem Cali that has already released music by Markus Suckut, Andre Kronert, Mike Dehnert, Steve Parker and Roberto Clementi amongst others.

The new release comes from Mink, an exciting new American producer who recently appeared on a VA for On Edge Society and now steps out with a full EP with three original works.

Supplying the remix is P.Leone the head of E-Missions imprint from Brooklyn and who now lives in Berlin. His music has been released on Radio Slave's Rekids, Ellen Allien's BPitch and Spencer Parker's Work Them, as well as collaborating with Dustin Zahn for example.

"Trip" kicks things off with a rolling drum beat and tribal influences full of tension and raw techno flavour of subtle tweaks and atmospherics.

P.Leone's remix goes straight for a stern kick and warping bass hits using elements from the original to create delayed textures soft bell notes hidden in the layers for those who love details. An intricate break of sound experimentation sets up the propulsion of the latter half and its moody dance floor vibe.

Track three "Warp" steps down into a slower paced ride focusing on a funky rhythm and spaced out sounds that add a blanket of electrified pulses and an interesting use of acid tones.

"Clone" closes out the EP with a deep dive into an acid-based analogue aesthetic that's a perfect example of maximising restraint and crescendo to make a thumping, club ready jam.
