For this example, we used a basic cube (disguised as dice). You can see in the rendering before we round the corners the shapes look flat and hard. Adding a rounded corner and edge will give the dice a more realistic look that we are familiar with.


Roundcorner is an extension from Fredo6 for SketchUp designed to help you add rounded edges and bevels to your SketchUp models. It allows you to both round off and bevel your corners, and is great for creating rounded edges and chamfers in your models!


This tool is designed specifically to create rounded corners and edges. It will basically take your edge and round it off to a curve. This particular tool will take the corners and round them off, and you can also set the number of segments created in each curve that makes up your rounding.


I would like to create any shape using the vector pen tool. And afterwards setting some corners round by using a single tool. This is a common way, and nothing special. It's ok, if it's not possible in Affinity Photo yet. I hope it will be implemented sometime in the upcoming versions. ?


Sometime, it is convenient to do rounded edges on the sketch, so basically, you have to draw a rectangle and then modify each corner by adding an arc of a circle or a circle (a way or the other) and trim the unwanted part of the sketch.

Very nice. It would be great if Enscape had a feature that would round the sharp edges. That's a dead give away that the image is cg. Sharp corners and hard edges don't exist in the real world and having to chamfer every object is not a realistic option. Vray offers a edge texture that you place in the bump slot and renders rounded edges at render time. It's also available in Lumion.


Creating boxes with sharp corners is what sketchup is good at, and this is usually great for buildings, but not for most products. Now with this plugin the door is opened for mechanical and product designers to flood in. Well recommended.

One small tip. Save your file before using this on complex geometry as it can hang. And as with most plugins, don't have the Outliner window open at the same time.


Isn't this more work than just drawing it with the pen like the way Wade suggested. The only advantage I see is if it is reused for a narrow range of the same size objects with sides at 90° angles which in my opinion is not much worth. If you scale down the object it will quickly fall apart and if you scale it up it will quickly limit the size of the possible radius, and also the size of a scaled object will not be reported and control at its effected size. In fact if I have to go that route I would rather use a group of four objects and this will give me the same thing with much greater flexibility to use interactively the transform tools - the image below shows what I mean. Just scale the rounded corner with the transform box holding Shift and move the edges of the other objects to fill gaps or move overlaps. For final usage apply the Unite function of the Pathfinder.





But even after that I think it is still less work to tweak it - select the two anchor points of the arc, click on one with the scale tool to place the scale center and Shift drag to create the desired round corner, move/scale snapping the edges of the object to the new size. At least you can do it with interactive tools instead of guessing and entering numeric data in multiple fills after each resize.
