Yedgar kicks off Religion Studio’s weekly artist series with one of our favorite mixes of 2020.

Hailing from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Yedgar is an electronic music producer, artist, and DJ who is known for infusing lush melodic bass music with retro fantasy RPG vibes. 

He is a prolific artist in the budding Wave music scene, which has recently begun to emerge from the underground internet scene into a tangible movement worldwide.

With releases on Terrorhythm, vibe.digital, and Future Roots, Yedgar’s music has been supported by the likes of Plastician on his legendary Rinse FM slot, Thadeous M on his BBC Radio show Beats Breaks & Bass, Kareful & LTHL’s radio show Liquid Ritual, and Wave heavyweights such as Sorsari, Noah B, Klimeks & Trash Lord. He is also a rotating host on the bi-monthly vibe.digital radio show & podcast.

Chris Reed, also known as Plastician (formerly Plasticman), is a Producer / DJ from Thornton Heath in the London Borough of Croydon.

Plastician is unique in that he is respected as one of the true pioneers of both the Dubstep, Grime and most recently Wave genres. 

Always reputed for selecting from a broad range of bass heavy styles and seeking out the genres that emerge from between established scenes.

He plays a monthly radio show on Rinse FM, where he has been credited for breaking many artists and collectives on his show, some artists who had their first plays on his shows include Joker, Om Unit, Klasey Jones, Mura Masa and countless more.

In 2006 he spent 18 months on BBC Radio 1, making him the world's first DJ to have a specialist dubstep and grime radio show on national radio.
