@Alexio is one of the most authentic representatives of the Genoese scene, emerging from the legendary Bonfim Club, by being part of the Disordine crew. His musical sensibility have led him to develop a very own and recognizable style blending Techno, House, EBM, and progressive, with a strong nod to the raw and immersive sounds of the '90s. 

However, his approach goes beyond merely reviving these genres—he reshapes them with refined taste and a personal vision, crafting hypnotic sets with nice flow and creativity.

As an integral part of The Cause family it was only right to have EYA’s very own Jos down for last year’s Birthday. The man behind All My Friends record shop and its community, always bringing the right energy, whether behind the counter or behind the decks. Watching him grow from strength to strength in his own lane has been something special, and his set at our 6th Birthday last year was a perfect reflection of that.

“During the set, I tried to build a raw and dynamic mix of emotions to represent the unique and diverse spirit of The Cause bday,” Jos says. “I felt comfortable pushing boundaries, surrounded by dancers and people I work and share moments with on a daily basis.” And that’s exactly what he did, blending deep, Italo-tinged cuts with rolling grooves, locking into that perfect balance of raw energy and hypnotic flow.

For this new episode of our live podcast series, we present the debut live set by Cabanelas — a sincere and carefully crafted journey through his musical vision, recorded in one of the most emblematic clubs of his hometown.

Ignacio Cabanelas, born in Montevideo in the late '80s, began collecting records and producing music before making his DJ debut in 2015 at Phonotheque. That same year, he co-launched the party series No Way Back, a project born from a shared passion for electronic music.

In 2018, he co-founded the label Montevideo Electric Recordings (MER) with Santiago Uribe, Juan Dairecshion, and Soto, with the aim of supporting and releasing music from the region.

This recording captures a special moment, his first ever live set, and offers a glimpse into his evolving sound.

This set is dedicated to Agustín Campolo (RIP), a friend and an inspiration.
