I know it's been a minute, but in my other life, I'm an Artist, honest, and I've been super busy with my craft and working on taking Platform Minimal to the next level.
For our 50th Podcast, we've decided to incorporate original photographs to accompany each mix. The image will be available for purchase as a limited run of 20 (20£ plus postage) in an actual CD size (12x12cm) printed on beautiful matt paper. Most images are analogue unless otherwise stated, which I know many of you will appreciate.

For the 50th mix, we contacted Rod Justice, who started life DJing on some of London's iconic pirate stations under another pseudonym (Big shout to all who know). Radio stations like Freek FM, Passion FM, Time FM, the legendary Kool FM, and possibly the first-ever internet radio station, Gaialive.
The mix is a concoction of what we call House music in all its diverse and beautiful forms. It's a 120-minute journey into the soul of house music which pays homage to the Pirate Radio days of old.

"In the beginning"

It's a phrase we've heard in passing that pauses the soul for a brief moment before we scurry away in the system.
What does this mean to us, where does it take us and is it fear or love that resonates when hearing or uttering it?
There are always so many questions, yet we fail to answer them and leave this world still and in search.
Shrouded in layers of chaos and confusion diffuses the soul, so how can we nourish it?
My answer to these complexities begins with Ancestral Landscapes' journey into what seems at first to be unknown, yet when we open ourselves to the trip, we begin to see the path. It was in front of us the whole time.
As we enter verse II of our journey, we open ourselves to possibilities lost in the memory of time. Our souls become nourished, our third eye opens, and we learn to see with our hearts.
Consider these words when experiencing the journey Ancestral Landscapes has created for us.

Artist's statement/
Salvo Pizzuto is a DJ producer born in the Italian peninsula who has always had a passion for more profound electronic music, clubbing and listening to his favourite DJs over time have shaped his tastes to the point it is. Currently. Salvo started DJing around 2017 at various underground parties in his hometown and is one of the very few DJs in Sicily to promote deep/experimental techno. His inspirations come from the beautiful nature that surrounds him and from mysticism. Its sound is based on dark and ambient percussions and modulations. Salvo is constantly growing, always looking for new hypnotic and atmospheric sounds that can lead the listener on a mental journey by recreating soundscapes. His curriculum is continuously increasing; he has made several publications, Nfeere, Space Texture, DNC LIMITED, DOSIS RECORDS, LETT RECORDS, THE CODE, ERAM RECORDS AND Charybdis, under the pseudonym of SAAM.

For aeons, humanity has been plagued with greed and hate - systems have become entrenched with these values at their very core, thus bringing humanity to its knees. 
There is still hope, but it is up to us as collectives and individuals to emerge from this bondage. Through arts, we can make an ever-lasting impact and avoid the Abyss looking back at us.

Artist's statement/
Tsott is a deep techno project from Tbilisi, Georgia, that can be defined as conceptual storytelling with music that is open to listeners' interpretation—exploring a combination of sounds that can be deep, darker grooves alongside warm and delightful sounds and striving to create a balance between those harmonics. It drives into the deep horizon of emotions and tries to lift inner feelings. His music has been released on labels like Liminal spaces, Kvlto records, and Indefinite pitch.

Inside the Hypnotic Forest.

Hypnosis is often understood as a state of consciousness in which a person becomes more open to suggestions and more receptive to the ideas and suggestions of others. In this sense, hypnosis can be seen as an altered state of consciousness that allows a person to temporarily suspend their normal critical faculties and enter a more receptive state of mind.
The experience of being in the Hypnotic Forest can vary widely from person to person, but many people describe it as feeling profoundly relaxed or meditative. 
Hypnosis has a variety of practical uses, including helping people reduce pain, overcome phobias and bad habits, and improve sleep. It is also sometimes used in therapy to help people explore and address unconscious thoughts and feelings.
The connection between hypnosis and sound is often emphasized inside the Hypnotic Forest. Its use of verbal repetition and other verbal techniques can be an effective way to induce a hypnotic state. These sounds can also create a relaxing and conducive atmosphere for hypnotherapy.

The Techno of civilisations.

As they stepped into the dimly lit club, the pulsating beat of Techno music hit their ears, and they felt a rush of adrenaline. The crowd was in a frenzy, lost in the music and the rhythm. They pushed their way through the sea of bodies, determined to find the source of this euphoria.
The room was massive, with towering columns and intricate murals depicting the rise and fall of civilisations, a reminder of the rich cultural history of Techno music. They approached the DJ booth, where a shadowy figure was mixing tracks with intense focus, sending the crowd into a frenzied dance.
Suddenly, the lights went out, and the room was plunged into darkness. The only source of light was the glow from the DJ's equipment. The crowd held their breath, waiting for the beat to drop. And then it happened - the DJ dropped a bass-heavy track, and the crowd erupted into a frenzy of dancing and cheering.
The two friends were transported to another world, lost in the music and the moment. They forgot everything else, and danced with reckless abandon, caught up in the moment. This was what they were looking for; this was the Techno they had been searching for.
As the night went on, they were swept up in the intense energy of the crowd, lost in the music and the rhythm. They were part of something bigger that had been growing for decades, a cultural phenomenon that had taken the world by storm. They were part of the Techno movement and would never forget this night.

Jenny Arredondo is a true Techno enthusiast. A music and dance-floor lover. A crazy healthy raver that would dance for hours and hours to proper Techno beats and bass. She is known as the "Dancing Queen" in the underground NYC Techno scene and around the world. Her passion for music has no limits; she has music in her blood.
 
Jenny's music exploration journey began in 2012, and she plays and produces Deep Techno, Ambient and Electronica under the names "Headliner" and "La Guru". Her album "Techno Inquisition" was released on November 16th 2013 and her second album "Ubiquitous" was released on December 28th 2014. Her release "Dark Invader" was included in the compilation REGENERATION by the Spanish label Doppt Zykkler//Series on June 15th, 2015. Her track Headliner - Planck Epoch was included in the (DE19) Deep Diversity Vol. 3 - Deep Electronics Compilation released on November 5th, 2015. Her first EP "Rose Red Wounds" was released on July 16th 2021 also on the dutch label Deep Electronics. Her latest release "A New Hope" was a contribution to the Mastoid Kollektive - PINK in support of breast cancer and was featured along other tracks by amazing techno and house legends.
 
She organized underground techno events in New York for almost a decade and also hosted events in Detroit, Mexico City, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Playa del Carmen. In 2015, Headliner also became part of Female Pressure, an international network of female artists in electronic music and digital arts founded by Electric Indigo. You will often find her listening and discovering new tracks and artists, also at Techno events having the time of her life.
Feed The Raver is a podcast radio show that supports local techno artists from around the world including amazing guests like Dino Sabatini, Electric Indigo, Grand River, Saphileaum, The Alchemical Theory and many more...It also produced official press Detroit Movement Electronic Music Festival with yearly video interviews and photo coverage from 2012- 2016. Also was a media partner of Charivari Detroit festival in 2016.

Frequency Machine is an artist originally from Colombia, belonging to the new wave of DJs & Producers with a great vision in terms of electronic music; daily, he focuses a lot on the search and exploration of sounds with which he can identify himself; he likes that his mix is intelligent, but always intense and hypnotic, without letting go of all the ambient, tribal, experimental and minimalist landscapes.

He has always had an apparent perception of music; music must be seen as a purely artistic and expressive value to finally make his receivers and other attendees understand how profound sound art can be.

His project as a producer will begin to emerge in 2023; he has been working a lot on his sound in 2022, looking for his guidelines and his true expression; in itself, he is very focused on musical diversity, wanting to imply that his music wants to get out of the Today's standards, he wants to express himself freely in all the multiple genres he wishes to delve into, especially knowing how to give musical culture to his entire environment.

Journeying deeper, he encountered a surreal garden where Techno melodies bloomed as flowers and swayed as trees, forming a harmonious tapestry of colours and sounds. Ascending to a mountain peak, he became enveloped in ethereal clouds that whispered ancient secrets while the bassline resonated with the universe's heartbeat. He witnessed a grand spectacle at its zenith—a tapestry of energies intertwining, creating a celestial dance of light and sound. Descending to an ocean of rhythm, he found himself weightless, embraced by waves of sonic energy. His essence fused with the pulsations, dissolving the boundaries between self and cosmos. As the Techno faded, he returned to the physical realm, forever expanded by those abstract landscapes. An enigmatic fusion emerged from the slow, mystical realms to the throbbing depths of the dancefloor. A sonic experiment defying convention.
In a dimly lit sanctuary, an artist conjured abstract soundscapes. Ethereal, deep techno, crawling languidly, interwove spectral whispers and pulsating rhythms.
Weeks later, the artist emerged onto a pulsating dancefloor. Bodies moved in synchronized chaos, surrendering to deep hypnotic techno.
Behind the decks, the artist harnessed collective fervour. Gravity twisted, and limbs moved in unconventional rhythms. Slow melodies entwined with thunderous beats create a paradox.
Time ceased as the artist guided dancers deeper into altered states. Magical journeys through sound, strange territories explored.
In a climactic moment, the music ceased. Silence enveloped the room, and reality snapped back. The strange interplay of mysticism and deep techno dissipated like a waking dream.
The artist had forged a connection between opposing worlds, bridging the ethereal and visceral. An indelible testament to the allure of deep techno.

Bio/
Hydrous is Per Christian Berg. A producer and DJ based in Oslo, Norway. Working within music as a sound technician/producer and having several projects across various styles and expressions, ranging from ambient and psychedelic rock to psy-chill and techno. With his project Hydrous, the focus and tone are rooted in techno's hypnotic, psychedelic, and atmospheric side. Drawing a big part of his inspiration from nature, especially the Norwegian scenery, and meditative states, bringing these threads of inspiration throughout his productions and DJ sets.Released his debut EP on Navigare Audio in 2021 and recently released music on labels such as Charybdis, Indefinite Pitch, Lotus Parable and Soria Records.

Amidst the kaleidoscopic undulations of luminescent waves, the wanderer found harmony in the pulsating rhythm, a syncopated symphony that rippled through the abstract cosmos. Drawing inspiration from the harmonious convergence of resonant frequencies, the wanderer sculpted ethereal melodies that danced along the edges of reality, creating an opus of sonic transcendence amidst the celestial cadence.

My love affair with techno began a few years ago, and it was love at first listen. While enjoying the music at home was a unique experience, heading to my local club offered a completely different level of enjoyment. It was the first time I truly felt free in public, lost in the music and surrounded by like-minded individuals. As the hours of dancing piled up, I began to realize that I wanted to do something meaningful with my life - to share the same emotions and feelings that I had experienced with others.

After gathering the basics of DJing from my brother and taking a few lessons elsewhere, I finally found the courage to start playing myself. My goal is to improve and become someone who can bring joy by sharing my work with the world.

In this unique town, the sound was not a product of conventional instruments but a harmonious symphony born from the collective reservoir of uplifting thoughts that permeated the air.
Every shared smile, each moment of joy, reverberated through the streets, transforming into an intricate blend of deep and minimal techno that softly echoed in the background. The heart of Seraphim beats to the enchanting rhythm of a musical genre crafted from the harmonious thoughts of its residents. In an intimate gathering space, hidden away from the mundane, a small group of enthusiasts discovered that the purest form of this positive resonance materialised in a distinctive fusion of deep and minimal techno. As individuals embraced mindfulness and nurtured positive energy, the beats and melodies that emerged from their collective consciousness took on a mesmerising quality.

Bio/
Kranos was born in 1990. At the age of 9, he began listening to Techno music. Since then, he has embarked on a detailed journey through various genres of electronic Dance Music, exploring Hardcore, drum and bass, Trance, and Trip Hop, encompassing almost every sample-oriented music style.
In 2007, he started DJing Drum&Bass, dedicating nine years to the craft as part of an active collective and performing in front of large audiences, bringing him complete pleasure. In 2016, his musical preferences evolved thanks to his favourite club, Elysia, in Basel, Switzerland, leading him towards ambient and deep techno. This began a new musical journey filled with various intense tunes.
Since then, Kranos has consistently sought pure bliss through stimulating hypnosis, placing this experience at the forefront of his musical endeavours.

The Illusion begins to melt away.
In the unassuming town of Veilstead, the mundane evening took an abrupt turn when a diverse group of residents suddenly saw through the collective Illusion. As daylight waned, shadows ceased to be benign silhouettes, revealing the monstrous truth lurking beneath familiar faces. The ordinary seemed to be a deceptive facade concealing creatures they never fathomed. Shocked and silenced, the group faced the unsettling reality that their neighbours, once thought to be ordinary people, were, in fact, monstrous entities all along. In their collective revelation, the group discovered an extraordinary ability: sonic sight. Through this newfound perception, they discerned the monsters' actual forms and harnessed the power to defeat them. The town, once draped in Illusion, now stood liberated, its residents forever changed by the combination of truth and the sonic sight that exposed the hidden menace.

themselves. We could see him working lately with the Château Perché
Festival as an artist and AD and in renowned clubs of France such as
KALT (Strasbourg, Fr) or Ostra Club (Nancy, Fr) alongside Dasha Rush,
Vril, Terrence Fixmer, Adiel, Denise Rabe, Justine Perry and more.
He co-founded the collective TRÊVE with other weirdos, gathering
artists from different horizons around ambient and visual arts to propose dreamlike and contemplative events. His ambient sets
become hybridized with tape samples, droning machine loops, and
synthesizers.
He recently curated a charity V/A with artists from the ambient,
downtempo and techno scene, with all proceeds going to help
Palestinian civilian victims (freepalestineva.bandcamp.com). Finally
his first EPs were released recently, the first one (ambient EP) on
Khoros' sublabel Chronos is on February 17, and the second (Techno EP) is on Sephora Recordings.

In the heart of a bustling city, amidst towering skyscrapers and neon lights, stood a small record store known as "Acetate Dreams." Within its walls, the air hummed with the soft crackle of vinyl and the soulful melodies of yesteryears. For those who entered, it wasn't just about the music but its promise. Each note spun tales of a better world, free from the shackles of oppression, greed, and capitalism. People gathered, drawn by the enchanting tunes, their hearts stirred with hope for a brighter tomorrow. In that little haven, they found solace, unity, and the courage to dream of a future where the rhythm of vinyl held the key to true liberation.

For over 20 years, he has participated in the club scene in Łódź and has decided to vent his passion. Raised on Old School, Jungle, D'n'B, tapes recorded from the radio and VHS tapes from electronic music TV programs from Viva, Viva Zwei, and MTV. Then he fell in love with electronics like Autechre, Aphex Twin, Vladislav Delay, The Black Dog, Monolake, Plastikman, and Jeff Mills. Currently, he draws inspiration from sets of artists like Donato Dozzy, Neel, Dasha Rush, Takaaki Itoh, Marco Shuttle, Mary Yuzovskaya, Shifted, and Abdulla Rashim. He loves techno in the style of hypnotic, deep, broken beats, offbeat, abstract, and ambient. He tries to include his love for rhythm and percussion in his sets, but he does not follow trends and draws from various trends and eras of electronic music. Currently, they want to improve their skills playing from vinyl.

A lone traveller trekked across the barren landscape, boots crunching against the desolate soil. The ground beneath their feet began to tremble, a subtle vibration at first, then an undeniable quake. They paused, heart pounding, as the earth seemed to ripple like water.
Without warning, the terrain split open. The traveller gasped, feeling the ground pull them downward. They tried to scramble back, but the force was relentless, swallowing them whole.
A trillion light years away, the traveller landed softly on a surface unlike any they had known. A realm of shimmering lights and alien beauty stretched before them, infinite and eternal. They stood, awe-struck, realizing this was their new home, forever caught in the mysterious embrace of Techtonic.

Emesh, led by Antonio Muñoz, is a master of creative music production across electronic, ambient, slow trance, and IDM genres. Hailing from La Alcarria, Spain, he's been crafting diverse sounds on Sendero Records since 2013—ranging from danceable beats to soothing melodies, drawing inspiration from 80s pop and electronic music. Antonio's journey as a musician and therapist began as a DJ in Spain's club scene, later expanding to Madrid's renowned venues. Evolving his skills, he delved into music production, mastering various instruments and exploring sound therapy rooted in shamanic practices. His talent has been recognized on a global stage, with his track featured at the London Music Conference in 2020. This global recognition is a testament to his skill and creativity. Digital Uprising
In the heart of Neo-Cyber City, Fluō led The Code Breakers, a band of rebels fighting the oppressive grip of the Techno Corporation. They knew action was needed when news of a draconian surveillance system surfaced.
Under the cover of night, they infiltrated the Corporation's mainframe. Fluō's fingers danced across the keyboard as they breached layer after layer of encryption. Alarms blared, but they pressed on.
With a final keystroke, Liria unleashed a virus, crippling the surveillance network. Freedom tasted sweet, but victory was short-lived as enforcers chased them through the streets.
Ultimately, The Code Breakers escaped, their actions a beacon of resistance. Though the Corporation still held power, their defiance sparked hope for a future where freedom triumphed over control.

Fluō, born in Albania and now based in Athens, fell in love with electronic music at a young age. His passion led him to the hypnotic world of techno, where he found his calling. Dedicated to providing unforgettable experiences, Fluō aims to immerse audiences in the depths of electronic soundscapes.

Bio/
Janovski is a French DJ from Nancy who started exploring electronic music through his writing experiences. Editor at Dure Vie since 2016, he has interviewed several big names on the international scene, such as Laurent Garnier.

At the same time, he discovered the immense potential of turntables and started to mix them for his own pleasure. In 2021, he joined the Nancy-based association La Zintrie. He played in local festivals such as ℕ𝕦𝕒𝕟𝕔𝕖𝕤 Festival or Nancy Jazz Pulsations and in more underground clubs such as KALT in Strasbourg or L'Ostra Club.

In 2022, he created the duo 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 with his friend and musical acolyte TITVS.

In the vast expanse of our cosmos, each human encounter forms a constellation—a fleeting alignment of stars illuminating the darkness of our solitude. We traverse these celestial bodies, orbiting others, drawn by the gravity of shared experiences and emotions. Yet, how often do we land upon these planets—these people—only to find barren landscapes devoid of the life we once imagined? The air is thin, and the soil yields no harvest. Every planet we visit remains dead.

This is not a physical death, nor the finality of existential cessation, but a death of potential, of growth. It is the realization that those we once thought vibrant have remained untouched by the currents of time, unchanged by the flux of experience. In these moments, we confront the stillness of their being and the immobility of their thought. The life we anticipated finding in their presence is a mirage, a projection of our desire for meaning and connection.

Roland Barthes spoke of the “death of the author,” suggesting that the interpretation of a text lies in the hands of the reader, not its creator. In the same vein, we might be complicit in these lifeless encounters. As the readers of others’ lives, we impose narratives upon them, expecting evolution, change, and enlightenment. When we find none, when the text of their existence remains unaltered, we are confronted with our disillusionment. It is we who have authored the expectation of their transformation, and it is we who must reckon with their inertia.

In his reflections on seeing, John Berger reminds us that “the relation between what we see and what we know is never settled.” When we meet those from our past, what we see is coloured by the knowledge we have since acquired—the awareness of our becoming, our transformations. We have journeyed and changed and look to others to affirm our evolution. But what if they are blind to their potential? What if the world remains flat to them and the stars are fixed in the sky?

To encounter these static souls is to confront the possibility that they are always dead. It is to acknowledge that not all who breathe are alive in the truest sense. Some are mere echoes, reverberating in the chambers of our memory, lacking substance in the present. They are the shadows on the cave wall, the ghosts of what might have been unanimated by the light of experience.

Thus, every planet we visit remains dead, not because they have failed us, but because they have remained themselves. They are the fixed points around which we orbit, measuring the progress of our voyage through the contrast of their stasis. In this realization lies the paradox of human connection: to see others is to acknowledge their limitations, and in doing so, we come to see ourselves more fully. The death we observe in others reflects the death we fear in ourselves—the death of growth, change, and the capacity to become more than we are.

To leave a planet behind, then, is not an act of abandonment but of survival. It is to recognize the necessity of moving forward and finding those rare celestial bodies where life does flourish, the soil is fertile, and the air is filled with possibility. Only in these living encounters can we continue to evolve, learn, and truly inhabit the brief span of our years.

When it escaped, it didn’t move forward; it spiralled backwards into the now, threading itself into every molecule, every wave. It whispered to atoms, nudging them into a rhythm, coaxing particles to dance.

The sound remembered tomorrow, long before it happened.

And in that echo, the universe heard itself for the first time.

Obsessed with music’s transcendent nature from an early age, Adrian Rennie has a passion for sound and its ability to take you to another place. A journey in extraordinary reality. Citing the interestingly popular liminalism movement as a collective need to temporarily escape the insane modern world, finding release in complex simplicity. 
Under the name Forward Memory, he releases deep and hypnotic techno, electro and ambient plus remixes, on various labels including RF Records, MIG, Madah Sounds and Woodwork Recordings.

About the release:

The first of a series of independently released two trackers are seeing Marek Bartunek translating his life stories and experience into music. Having spent few years deeply rooted within a niche techno genre as multiple label owner, the artist decided to focus on his own personal expression without any limitations from labels, different opinions and long waiting times for music to be released.
Through out the next near future, the artist will be focusing on growing his catalogue on his own Bandcamp, capturing both his immediate feelings and his progress in technical aspects of music production.

In an age silenced by oppression, a forgotten intersection whispered secrets: the X-Y Axis.
At this nexus, sound and spirit intertwined, defying the weight of tyranny. The seekers of this hidden sanctuary, where equations danced with melodies, believed in a profound truth—liberation through resonance.
In this realm, sound was more than mere noise; it was a spiritual and mathematical communion. Forbidden instruments and sacred harmonics constructed a symphony of hope, each note charting a point on the invisible grid of rebellion.
The Grand Symphony emerged, a testament to resilience, vibrating across the silence. Each note, a precise coordinate, wove a tapestry of unity, transcending the boundaries of the unseen and the unheard.
As the symphony's crescendo shattered the quiet, it revealed the power of the X-Y Axis—not just as lines on a plane but as pathways to freedom—the wave of sound spread, awakening collective memory and sparking the crumbling of oppression's walls.
The sanctuary was no longer hidden in the echo of this cosmic harmony. The X-Y Axis transformed into a beacon, a reminder that even in the darkest silence, the interplay of sound and spirit can redefine reality.

Bio/
Eliana Giraldo, or Elyan X, is a Colombian artist from Pereira. Beginning her musical journey with local bands, she fell in love with electronic music in 2014, particularly house music. By 2015, she explored more profound genres like techno, drawn to their dark, bold sounds.

Inspired by artists such as Oscar Mulero, Elyan X creates deep, melancholic, and hypnotic tracks. Today, she's a key figure in Pereira's music scene, performing with national and international artists and developing her skills as a producer with AXTTRAL COLOMBIA.
