This latest edition of the AVA Mix Series is a biggie!

Yung Singh is an open format DJ. His sets can vary in genre from Garage to grime, old-school jungle and DnB expertly blended with Punjabi folk, nostalgic trance, hip-hop, and everything in between. 

Singh's set was a highlight from AVA in the Woods at All Together Now 2022 as well as our candle-lit New Year's Eve Party in London. This genre juggling legend will make his hotly anticipated Belfast festival debut at AVA this year – and this mix presents some of the flavours you can expect. Welcome to the third instalment of the FMB Discord Mixtape. Joining us this time, we welcome MDWILLS. Here are a few words from the man himself: 

Hey everyone,

It’s Matt here, but I go by my alias, MDWILLS. I’m a DJ and producer from Manchester, currently living in Newcastle since graduating from uni here. My introduction to electronic music and the dance scene stems from my big brother, who introduced me to Bicep several years ago, along with various other artists—and now, here we are.

I first started DJing at uni for a laugh, but it quickly became a passion of mine alongside producing music. I currently DJ at a few residencies here in Newcastle, which I began during my time at uni studying biomed. I’ve continued these gigs while working as a personal trainer.

Bicep have massively influenced my productions (I think I must have watched their Printworks live set a million times), along with many other artists, including Jamie xx, Overmono, Burial, Cameo Blush, Rival Consoles, the Cloudcore label, and so many others. Watching their lockdown set live with a projector and blasting speakers in my family home was unforgettable, so getting the opportunity to record a mix for them is incredibly special for me. Thank you for this opportunity.

This mix includes a lot of my favorite tunes at the moment, as well as a handful of my own productions. I hope you all enjoy it!
