We're closing out the year in style, our most comprehensive Housekeeping guest mix yet, and by no surprise - 2 hours of deep, soulful, and classic house gems provided by RSI resident DJ & Producer, SRRMN. Atlanta born & Brooklyn based, Ramoan “SRRMN” Bruce, the self proclaimed “Black Priest of House” uses various influences of his childhood such as gospel, southern hip hop, disco and afrobeats to transcend what is considered the normal formula for house music. Every set and mix is meant to sound cinematic, energetic and almost holy, which is why SRRMN’s sets are commonly referred to as “Sermons”, and the deep library of tracks, “Scriptures". Once SRRMN gets you started, he won’t let you stop - and he does exactly this, blessing our eardrums with a vibrant mix of tones and colors spanning all corners of the globe. One of my favourite times to listen to music is after hours.

When you get back to someone’s place and the vibe is anything goes. Nice and loose. Just music.

I love when I get back down the studio in the early hours and listen to random stuff with my friends while talking shit and drinking some kind of paint stripper.

Normally that’s when the weird stuff I buy on vinyl from around the world gets some air. Just one track after another. No frills just thrills.

Been wanting to do some mixes (not mixes) like this for years. But had to wait until the world started back up again as you can’t do after hours or less there is something to be after right?

Anyway here is it is After With Dicky. All from vinyl 45s (not that I give a fuck how people play good music). 

Late night, early morning dub, blissful Brazilian, fantastic funk, cool cumbia, weird Thai shit, spangled soul, Mexican boogaloo, reggae superhero covers, crazy calypso and who knows what the fuck else.

Hope you dig it. We probably won’t remember it anyway x

As a member of the infamous CUFF team Shiba San has become synonymous with that rugged, ghetto sound that represents CUFF and its owners Amine Edge & DANCE. Shiba comes from Paris (of course) where hip-hop was a strong influence to begin with, and that sound permeates through into the music he makes now with vocals and rough beats galore. His track "Okay" on dirtybird is killing it right now, and has been touted by many as one of the anthems of the summer. No doubt you'll hear it more than once at We Are FSTVL. It's going to be one hell of a party and this mix should get you in the mood.

While recording this new Visioneers record, Mac began thinking how hip-hop had been a (sometimes invisible) guiding hand in his life. “The music, the fashion and culture. Although producing all kinds of music from jungle to jazz, hip-hop (or at least what is was) has always been a part of what I do in some strange and sometimes very subtle way.” Documenting this influence on Hipology.org, his very own digital scrapbook (that has also spawned the record of the same title), it’s easy to see the depth of Mac’s appreciation of hip-hop. HIPOLOGY; the album includes hand picked guest John Robinson, Notes To Self, TRAC & Baron alongside some featured musicians Luke Parkhouse, Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra & The Support Horns. The result is a real cool, funky eclectic mix of breaks, beats, soul/jazz and freaky squeaks a great follow up to the debut album.
