@danshakemusic: "I wanted to showcase a typical Dan Shake extended set, many flavours! Recorded off the back of playing a seven hour set at Electric Brixton, where I was able to play lots of different genres across the night. Some of these tracks and artists inspired me when I was first starting my DJ career, and some are later discovery’s I found during lockdown when the time to dig through music was endless."

Released in 1997, this collaboration between Snitzer & Mc Coy and Humate captures the intensity of European techno at the time. The Heavy Mix rhythm presses forward with a force. Synth lines swell in arcs that hover above the drums.

The combination of producers brought together different strengths. The drive and weight of Snitzer & Mc Coy with the melodic sensibility Humate had honed across records like Love Stimulation. The result is a piece that can fill a floor while keeping an edge of mystery intact.
