Richard D. James, known better as Aphex Twin, has made a habit of being at the forefront of sonic changes in electronic music across three decades, at once dictating the cultural narrative while also removing himself from it, branching out and exploring new and innovative sounds and textures.

Aphex Twin spent his early years playing in the sandbox of acid, a genre offshoot of house music that often boasted harsher, edgier sounds. Here's a dance mix rare mix by the English sound wizard...

ITW: Route 8 (Farbwechsel/Lobster Theremin/Nous) - Hungarian producer from Budapest. Route 8 has only recently gained prominence through the Lobster Theremin and Nous labels, but his hardware production experiments date back almost 10 years. Inspired by the raw-edged US house and techno sound, he has also expanded his work into off-kilter electro and ambient, still inflicted with his melancholia-tinged melodies and racheting drum patterns.

DJ MELL G (@djmellg) is one of the most authentic artists to emerge from the electronic music realm in recent years. The Hamburg-based DJ, producer, and founder of the label JUICY GANG RECORDS has found her sound in the shades of electro, breakbeat, techno, and EBM, mutating these textures to form her own surgically precise signature. 

A string of career-defining B2Bs with Helena Hauff, DJ Stingray 313 are just a handful of highlights in her trajectory so far. DJ MELL G's debut album 'ISSUES', released in 2023 on her label JUICY GANG RECORDS, showcased her most steely and personal collection to date. The Warp Records Bleep × takeover marked the last event at our pop-up shop in Dalston. Mira Calix, Plaid and Special Request all delivered sets that were energetic, playful and ultimately; incredibly fun. This mix from Plaid starts from the off at 100% and stays there till the end. From the first kickdrum to the final squelch, this is a constant roller bursting with heart palpitating energy.  60 minutes of pure vibrancy with a breakbeat or two thrown in for good measure - fitting for a final big blow out!

No frills or faff about this set, just banger after glorious banger from Warp kingpins.
