From tales of shunning “serious” protocol by inviting local Scottish heroes to MC at landmark shows to the endless challenges of hunting down old gems to repress, we sat down with Max and Mitch to find out more. Speaking on how they find the humour in their mistakes, their advice for labels facing vinyl pressing delays and expanding upon the significance behind their exclusive accompanying mix, they provided a techno-based offering that examines the genre's development from the 80s all the way into the current day.

The duo Max & Mitch have been playing records together for over 10 years now despite still being in their 20s. This coupled with running one of the most well-respected underground labels to come out of the UK in recent years, has led the pairing to have a varied & extensive record collection with knowledge & understanding of the craft well beyond their years. 


This translates into energized dancefloors across Europe, a monthly Rinse FM show, and a residency at infamous Aberdeen nightspot The Tunnels as well Glasgow’s Sub Club & La Cheetah,  the latter from which they still run their label parties. The trailblazing duo knows how to keep the dance floor pumping, transcending genres, and playing tracks with the club in mind alongside rare hidden gems only the most ardent digger can find. They play with fluidity & energy that can only be achieved by having spent thousands of hours DJing alongside each other and having a deep understanding of what makes dancefloors tick.

After a stream of constant quality, locked in records returns once again this time with uk based Jack keo who finally unleashes ‘Bigger’ ep. After videos circulating of raresh and Ricardo hammering most of the ep in one of there legendary b2b sets at fabrics birthday and other big names spinning it throughout the summer of 24’ it’s been highly anticipated by those in the know. 

The record starts with the stunningly crafted ‘bigger’ with a lovely mix of subtle electronics and warm pads. A2 ‘ode to e’ is a breaks piece of dreamy tones and vocal patterns. On the heavy and darker b side the naughty bass of ‘quartet’ heads b1. Built for an attack on the floor with its vocoder driven rhythm. A DJ duo forged on the streets of Boorloo and tempered in the backyards of North Perth, Mintox and Matt Ferret are two of the West Coast’s heavyweights.

Mintox can be found taking names on hazy Perghain dancefloors as well as maintaining tireless involvement in local organisations like RTRFM and Club Jewelz. 
Besides his notable role as a promoter and taste maker, Matt Ferret is one of the brains behind Perth party and music platform Crab Claw, co-host of RTRFM’s Thursday Drivetime and burgeoning producer. 

This mix is a melting pot of Matt and Mintox’s tastes and DJ styles and the two employed a focus on Australian and West Australian music, something they both are hugely passionate about championing. This mix was apparently a joy to record and definitely one to listen to!

Hailing from Eora/ Sydney, zara is a Ngunnawal(Canberra) based selector of  diverse proportions. Showcasing deluges of techno, breaks and jungle, a 140bpm+ hour mix demonstrates her ability to create a sonic landscape of acid, bass and hard-hitting melodic incantations. zara is also one half of the Canberra based collective Section Seven and involved in the open-air rave focused collective Looney Toones.

Incredibly active within the Canberra scene, with releases for Orbit (@orbit0o0) and Canberra House Social (@canberrahousesocial) over the last 12 months, and part of the bill for the upcoming easter weekend open-air, chm. sunburn, we're excited to release this powerful mix from an artist we admire to open our third series. This body of work grips you from the start and has no intention of letting you go.
