45 vintage cuts decanted and mixed into a 56-minute Molotov cocktail of Bolshevik beats, Kollywood funk, ostracised ostrock and pan-Asian pop oddities by renowned record hound, LP compiler, international DJ and co-founder of Finders Keepers Records, Doug Shipton.

Dedicated Swallower Of Fashion is a cacophony of syncopated psychedelic madness that draws from his enviably expansive record collection and challenging DJ sets, dusting off handpicked fuzz-ridden-break-heavy platters from as far and wide as Malaysia, France, India, Germany, USA, Russia, Spain, Columbia, Italy and Indonesia.
 
Not content with his involvement in the aforementioned labours of love, the South London rare-disc-detective divides his time working alongside fellow B-Music crusaders and label mate Andy Votel not only in unearthing schizoid channel-hopping artifacts from the alternate-annals of pop history, but also uncovering the finest in off-kilter independent music for Manchester’s very own homemade and house-proud, singular-minded non-label Twisted Nerve (along with co-label boss Badly Drawn Boy), as well as manning his bespoke pocket empire Battered Ornaments Records – responsible for cultivating the much sought after debut releases of reactionary fuzzed out mutant psych misfits Wolf People and cosmic Anglo-krautrockers The Laughing Windows.

DJ duties have seen him traverse the globe sharing needle time with the likes of David Holmes, The Gaslamp Killer, Edan, Jarvis Cocker, Andrew Weatherall, Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), Richard Norris (Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve/The Time And Space Machine) and Graham Massey (808 State), whilst compilation call-ups have seen him pit his wits and his wax against The Gaslamp Killer, Bob Stanley (St. Etienne), and Chris Geddes (Belle & Sebastian) amongst others.

All this self-isolating has got us built up with bags of energy, step up Scott Fraser of Body Hammer and Quinn Whalley of Paranoid London to service this.

Ravers, party makers and creation of flavours - both Scott and Quinn are no strangers to dance music and the club scene. Born and raised in Glasgow, now based in London, Scott Fraser has been part of the electronic music and club community as a dancer, music fan, club promoter, DJ and recording artist for over 30 years. The rather elusive Quinn Whalley of Paranoid London would be foolish to be ignored... this is the real deal: dirty, repetitive music for DJ's & dancers. ha-how-ha-how-ha-how-ha-howse nae shon!

Scott and Quinn lift us from under our feet over this soundtrack for the night time as we manoeuvre through this 1-hour and 40-minutes of hypnotic House rhythms galvanized in Acid, who said staying in couldn't get rowdy?

La música Ecuatoriana siempre ha sido algo muy especial para mí. Cada vez que descubro una canción, un nuevo estilo o un disco de un artista Ecuatorianx me enamoro más y más de la cultura que me ha dado tanto. 

Hice esta mezcla para mí amigo Angelo Baque, artista y diseñador en Nueva York fundador de AWAKE una empresa de ropa. Angelo es Ecuatoriano nacido en la YONI como yo! :) 

Estoy siempre en la búsqueda de artistas nacidos en Estados Unidos con padres Ecuatorianos. Cuando nos encontramos nos quedamos hablando de nuestra juventud, la cultura que compartimos y todo lo que trae ser hijos de Ecuatorianos. La curiosidad es una de las cosas que tenemos en común, son las ganas de buscar más historias de música y arte en el Ecuador y su diáspora. Aquí les comparto esta mezcla para que otros jóvenes hijos de Ecuatorianos en el mundo pueden conocer el Ecuador y sus raíces a través esta música. 

Las canciones que están en esta mezcla son de todo un poco, quiero compartir las cosas que me han inspirado a continuar corriendo desde mi curiosidad.

La portada son dibujos que hizo el artista Ecuatoriano León Ricaurte como parte de su libro Diseños Pre Hispánicos del Ecuador. De joven mis primos eran amigos de Leon y su familia. Siempre andábamos en su casa en Chipipe mirando sus pinturas y paseando en la playa que quedaba al final de la calle.

Music from Ecuador has always been special for me. Every time I find a new song or album I fall deeper in love with this culture that has given me so much. I made this mix for my friend Angelo Baque who is an artist, designer and owner of AWAKE. He’s Ecuadorian American like me. :)

Im always looking and meeting artists that are Ecuadorian American and we’re always sharing so many similar stories about our upbringing through our parents culture and how it felt living and growing up in the USA. Our eagerness to find more visual and sound/music work from Ecuador is always so deep. My hope is to continue these conversations through posting these mixes and more!

The cover art is by León Ricaurte from his book Diseños Pre Hispanics del Ecuador. I remember hanging with my cousins who were friends with his family at Leon’s house looking at his paintings, eating food and hanging by the beach in Chipepe. <3
