FIGURE JAMS enters the next round, setting up a pairing between two hardware-loving, no-frills techno-purists. Both artists build on vibrant, machine-made roughness, yet each leaving their uniquely flavored footprint.

Kicking things off is Eindhoven‘s Albert Van Abbe, whose wide-open soundscapes and searching synths evoke an emotional impact that goes far beyond mere tools, able to equally move and sooth even the fiercest of late-night lovers.

Low-key producer SP-X appears on the flipside, ready to get lost deep within layers of hypnotic loops. Searing percussion, rumbling bass and dubby synths engage in complex conversation, subtly swelling and swaying but always keeping the groove ever so tight.

An era when you still had to leave your house to buy music, when Arnold Schwarzenegger's picture was still on DJ Hell's label designs, and Jamie Lidell was still doing techno. 
Some of you might know this mix already, but I'm putting it out there again to show that this is timeless future techno. From the past.
