Calling your label Noise In My Head is a solid start, but actually pick up acts to support that narrative and you’re onto a winner. Step forward Lucy Cliché. With a quasi-antagonistic moniker and a style that melds the intensity of New Beat and the chime of messthetics, she fits the template like a glove.

The logical extension of her no-wave beginnings, “Shallow Shadow” is clangorous, malevolent and dark, but exercises enough restraint to avoid drifting into wanton bombast. The entire Drain Down four-tracker is killer – a serious shot across the bow. Cop it Feb 23rd.
