Nightmares On Wax Boiler Room London DJ Set

Tip top night at Band on the Wall in Manchester, to celebrate 15 years of my Manchester 'Keep It Unreal' residency. MC Kwasi was down on a night out, but couldn't resist a little mic session. Since April, this night has been a 'Non-Mobile Disco'.. no mobiles on the dance floor. Really helped the atmosphere, and we will carry on with this approach from now on. Can't forget the amazing sound system, venue & staff too. As always, thanks to all the long-time regulars, and the first-timers. Everyone welcome!

Nicky Siano is the Master of Disco Soul. A pioneer of the dance music scene in the early seventies, Nicky was the owner/designer/DJ of the legendary seventies dance palace The Gallery and went on to become one of the original Studio 54 resident DJs. He worked the DJ booth at Bianca Jagger's infamous Studio 54 birthday party. He inspired and launched the careers of Grace Jones, D.C. La Rue, Loleatta Holloway, Larry Levan and Frankie Knuckles, to name a few.

Boo Williams - -The Moving Service Mix

Back in the late 90's we were touring in N. America and Japan a lot and mixtapes were a small, cheap piece of merchandise to sell at shows so I put this collection together. Using scraps of turntable jams from Stealth, Solid Steel and various other gigs we'd been recording over the preceding years as well as answerphone messages and other miscellanea, this ramshackle collection resulted.
It's all live, virtually all improvised, there are mistakes, needle skips, sloppy scratches and bad sound quality (sound sources were from cassette or portable DAT generally). There were possibly around 500 copies made but I only had one myself. The audio for this rip was taken from the master DAT though and EQ'd and balanced in places to make it a nicer listen. The cover image of a John Coltrane painting was taken in Tortoise's kitchen in Chicago, one Sunday on a day off when PC and I were there with Bundy K Brown, hence the title.Sunday At Bundy's - DJ Food's Audio Scrapbook (side A.)
