Black Mythology is the fourth EP by Apashe on Kannibalen Records. Leaving behind the funk influences of his last EP, Funky Family, Apashe has turned his synths and drums into overdrive, creating a pair of booming trap anthems that should propel him further into the upper echelons of the electronic music universe and solidify his status as the new God of Bass.   

The first track of the EP, Black Gold, is the continuation of his September smash hit free release, Battle Royale. Black Gold is a stomping trap banger, filled with epic orchestral samples and anchored by an insistent, guttural vocal sample. The second track, Forsaken, is a monster collaboration between Apashe, Dabin and Kai Wachi. Conceived during a marathon studio session at Apashe’s studio in Montreal, it contains signature sounds from all three producers. With elements of glitch hop, trap and drumstep and featuring the vocals of Ariane Zita, Forsaken has the potential to be a huge chart-topper.

In collaboration with Sadaa Sound Syndicate, we're honoured to present Sawt Syria: an exploration of club & underground music culture in Syria and its exilic diaspora in Europe. Captured in the summer of 2022, this two-part project showcases, for the first time ever, the most compelling Syrian DJs & producers of contemporary culture, shaabi sounds & rap.

The second segment – 'Exile (Europe)', shot between Amsterdam & Berlin – presents a 7-hour broadcast with 14 artists, followed by a video-essay in which they reflect on their changing artistic practices as they navigate their diasporic realities & make sense out of their experience away from home. 

C1 Collective has been inactive since Spring 2023.

"Sawt Syria {'sawt' meaning sound} is a meditation on the Syrian condition forged in over a decade of still ongoing war and dispersion, of the abjection and joy that shape that condition and the place of music in reckoning and striving for life. It was conceived & produced by Syrians for Syrians with editorial help from Sadaa Sound Syndicate – a cross-border group of self-organized Syrians who are attuned to the agential possibilities of sound. Since its inception, this project has been difficult to put out into a world where genocide is ongoing in Palestine and where turmoil persists in Syria and the region. Amsterdam born and raised DJ/producer BELLA represents uplifting house music. BELLA’s musical journey is a fusion of 90s house, adorned with the pulsating energy of acid, electro, rhythmic melodies and taking things proggy.

Dreams [LNTG Version]

Following on from Lutto Lento's idiosyncratic inauguration, a second release of curious delights emerges From Them Depths. The music we've heard from the Portugese trio has thus far fallen somewhere between carefree and inscrutable, and they continue that here, with a video to match from Sasha Litvintseva. What we can latch onto are the psychedelic trails sketched out by a lone axe-wielder, their fitful scratches crossing across a choppy backbeat. "Falcao" feels akin to a golden-era Can demo reel: all jam, no band. It's a helluva lot more effective than Radamel, that's for sure.
