Styles come and go, but real house music abides – a rule that is as true in Paris as anywhere else. The mighty DJ Gregory might have had the most hype for his Africanism series that inadvertently inspired the UK Funky movement, but before and after that he has continually demonstrated understanding of the purest principles of house. In advance of our bumping basement house broadcast from Paris, we've already spoken to the younger generation of the scene in the form of DJ Molly – now get reacquainted with the O.G., via this first track from his upcoming collection of faultless club tools made in his Point G guise.

Trevino aka Marcus Intalex joins recent Aus signings Recloose and Cassy with his 'Casino' EP. Marcus Intalex is widely known for making ground breaking drum and bass. In 2011 he started the Trevino alias to feed his desire to get back to his roots and rekindle his 4 to the floor spirit. 

This new phase of his career propelled him to move to Berlin where he's continued to develop a hugely impressive discography that’s included releases on Ben Klock's Klockworks and Martyn's 3024.

'Casino' brings together three deftly structured and dance floor focused tracks that blur the boundary between house and techno in true Trevino fashion.

Late October will see Dutch artist Man With No Shadow deliver his 'Drumfeld' EP via the long standing 100% Pure imprint, accompanied by a remix from Copy Paste Soul.

Dutch producer and DJ Man With No Shadow's production career has been steadily evolving over the past few years since stepping out of events to pursue his own music, since marking his debut on Shinedoe and 2000 and One's Intacto in 2013 he's gone on to remix Copy Paste Soul on his 2Swords label and release two EP's for Tom Budden's ALiVE Recordings. Here though we see Man With No Shadow step up with a new EP for 2000 and One's other label 100% Pure, one of Amsterdam's leading imprints founded in 1993.

Opening is the title-track 'Drumfeld' in which Man With No Shadow treats us to powerful drums further fuelled by a vacillating low-end drive, while raw dub hits and sporadic vocal hums further fuel the heady groove. 'Asteriks' follows and takes a more stripped-back percussive feel with delayed marimba hits subtly evolving alongside dusty drums sounds and grainy atmospherics throughout.

UK artist Copy Paste Soul then steps in to rework 'Drumfeld' next, putting his unique spin on things via choppy bass stabs, sweeping synths and an ever-evolving dynamism before a third and final original 'Double Dub' closes the package, again employing a groove-driven feel via energetic stab sequences and crunchy percussion.

Well, 2016 was a bit of a mixed bag wasn't it? It's certainly a year that I wont forget in a hurry - for all sorts of reasons - good and bad. However the one common denominator throughout pretty much all of it has been music. Whether its what you turn too to make you happy or whether its the cause of what occasionally makes you sad, there is no denying that music is the one thing that brings us all together to share what is best about being a human. So here's to sharing and caring. We can all do more of both in 2017 but I want to sign off for the holidays by saying a MASSIVE THANK YOU to you all for caring about my music. As for the sharing, I'll start us off with this... ;)
