Released through French imprint Egoplanet, his latest offering, the "Roach Fingers" EP, features four tracks of raw yet elaborate house music. Take the title track here : a clever use of samples, solid beats, syncopated Rhodes parts, the Canadian producer distils proper late night warehouse groove through your ears and body. Who better to kick off the inaugural release of SOBO [Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest] than Patrick Holland, best known as Project Pablo. Affiliated with the Canadian Riviera's 1080p troupe, as well as Seb Wildblood's Church and Lone's Magicwire – Holland now adds Beaubien Dream as the fourth instalment to his 12" series. The Beaubien connection comes from Montreal's Rue Beaubien, of which Holland is a resident. SOBO is headed up by fellow longstanding citizens of the Beaubien Ouest hood, Arbutus Records and their extended family – of which Holland is an instrumental part.

An initial teaser of the EP's opening "Closer" was aired publicly during Holland's BR London set back in October, as well as his NTS appearance with Lone and Gabriola earlier this year. Now, after a patient seven-month wait, we can finally wrap our mitts around it in its entirety. Alongside its two subsequent components, the track acts as a homage to Holland's home. With its distinctive Dx7 melodies, jingly percussion provided by bells (of the cow variety amongst others) and an insatiable groove growing lazily throughout – "Closer" is instantaneous happiness.

Clipp.art’s first 12” is finally here! Who else to give the froff lords what they want but the one and only 1-800 Girls with his debut EP entitled ‘U, Me and Madonna’. Blood, sweat and a whole lot of creative juices have got the clipp family to this point and we are thrilled to finally have some physical tuna for the people. 

1-800 Girls has been on the move of late with shows all over the UK, international dates in Malta and Poland and recently debuting on Rinse FM. This new ep ‘U, Me and Madonna EP’ is a continuation of his highly successful track U, Me and Madonna premiering on Houseum last year. To date, the track has almost two and a half million spins on youtube... Everyone remembers that little kid dancing fabulously to the new york skyline.

Three new tracks including the reimagined ‘Sundown edit’ of ‘U, Me and Madonna’ have that distinctive 1-800 Girls sound however a bit more upbeat and including killer euphoria outros. The second track on the ep would take any dancefloor on an adventure through the deep jungle. Wondering acid lines and some of the smoothest pads we have heard in a while, some kids may never return from the jungle you put them in. Track three ‘All Day, All Night’ is the magic tool of the release breaking up the soundwaves with this moving heavy bass line chugger. It may even push you through to the 13th hour of your Sunday morning kick ons. Overall 1-800 Girls has put some proper talent into this release and we have to give him serious props for his craft.

Mood Hut’s CZ Wang and Neo Image officially release MH006, a 12-inch that features their long-leaked and celebrated west coast party starter Just Off Wave. Originally recorded in 2014, these tracks sat on ice until they finally passed Claudio’s Cadillac-test™.

Side A’s Just Off Wave throws back to a pioneering moment of Pacific Northwest hip-hop mysticism. It first gained sneaky notoriety as a favourite of local DJs, eventually making it around the world thanks to some—in classic Mood Hut fashion—misplaced CDRs. The track is blessed with the hypnotiq call-and-response vocals of the low-key but legendary Separated At Birth crew —an alias of two Canadian rappers born on the same day. Contract restrictions prohibit us from revealing any more. 

Side B features Open Mic Beat, an ecstatic DJ tool centred around an improvised drum machine traffic jam. This tune got its legs at early Mood Hut parties where it became a natural prompt, encouraging microphone-grabbing party guests to step up and freestyle.
