In this installment of Sound Advice, we speak to Hugo Gruzman of Flight Facilities. The Australian pair landed 15 years ago with “Crave You,” a luscious slice of disco pop. Today, they're playing Glastonbury and Coachella and rocking clubs from Ibiza to Bali; known for their infectious house productions, epic mixes and edits of everyone from Jamiroquai to Cassius. In this exclusive interview, we talk to Hugo about the duo’s beginnings in the bloghouse scene, and how it influences their work today. We also talk about curation, music discovery and fan interaction on SoundCloud, and their approach to remixing and arrangement.

The Brazilian city of Salvador’s deep connection with the African continent has long been a central influence in much of the city’s output, with legendary Afrocentric carnival ‘blocos’ such as Ilê Ayiê further strengthening the connection with the African identity over several decades.

A leader in this movement today – Batekoo: a LGBTQIA+ focused collective whose central theme is celebrating Salvador and Baiano culture. For Boiler Room x Ballantine's Salvador, we’ll be bringing them back to home turf for a celebration of the city at its most cutting-edge and innovative.

A multifaceted artist, who over his career has traversed between singer-songwriter, hit producer, DJ and curator, Ben Westbeech now arrives on Glitterbox Recordings with a fully realised artistic vision on his new album Everything Is Within You.

Encapsulating Ben’s appreciation of the power we all have within us to achieve joy and peace, as conveyed sonically by all the musicians involved, Everything Is Within You came together organically. His first full length solo LP since the acclaimed There’s More To Life Than This on Strictly Rhythm in 2011, Everything Is Within You showcases Ben’s artistic development as a songwriter, curator and producer as he steps into his role as producer and arranger, away from lead vocalist. Following the release of the album, Italian-Belgian maestro Aeroplane adds his signature touch to one of Ben's collaborations with RAHH, 'Whatever Is Missing'.
