As Her Memory Fades

Yes Alexander’s insatiable hunger for music has provided an array of intoxicating melodies that collide with folk, synth pop, rock and hip hop. Yes has done vocal freelancing for different music producers.  She has worked with artists such as Blue Sky Black Death on the album Slow Burning Lights, Sadistik (Russian Roulette), Jay Battle (Lokhartmusic.com) and Vinnie Paz (Carry on Tradition). Yes has also released 4 EP’s with her band LUST (formally The Casual Lust).   She has recently moved from Brooklyn, Ny to Reykjavik, Iceland and is beginning to write her second solo record.

Forty-two months can be a lifetime in the rapidly changing world of dance music, but the 3 ½ years since Maya Jane Coles’ previous Mobilee release, 2011’s “Beat Faster,” has seen the UK DJ/producer accumulate unprecedented accolades from all corners of the dance music sphere, from magazine covers and reader poll placement to premier league bookings and regular play by her esteemed house music peers 

Having seamlessly transitioned from buzz-heavy newcomer to perennial favorite, Maya returns to Mobilee with three tracks in her unmistakable style, one that has only become more potent with practice on releases by Dogmatik, Hypercolour, Jackathon Jams, 20:20 Vision and her own I/AM/ME label. “From the Dark” picks up perfectly where “Beat Faster” left off, with the addition vocalist Moggli only adding more spice to the bubble tech house stew. Proof that as fast as Maya’s star has shot, there’s still plenty of sky left to travel.

The EP finds Hackman going full-circle of sorts. The tunes from this release were written almost five years ago, when the producer was on a totally different aesthetic tip, favoring UK funky styles over the deeper house tones that popped up on THUMP recently. "I would say this EP would have fit better within my catalogue back around 2011," Hackman tells THUMP. "That's when the tracks were originally written and signed to Halocyan, but I'm at the point now where I'm starting to write a bit harder, more dance floor driven music, so this EP is a good base to build from for this."

By incorporating his love of Detroit Techno, Drum & Bass and UK and US garage into a finely honed style, Copy Paste Soul is leading the charge with his left-of-centre broken-house sound.

Releases such as his Blink, Look At Me, People On The Street and I Wanna Be EPs on the highly respected Exploited in 2013 caused respective storms, and remixes for the likes of Laurent Garnier, Photek, Deadmau5, Kele Okereke, James Wolf, Low Steppa, Alex Barck on Sonar Kollektiv plus an appearance on Audiojacks Gruuv signal that his production nous is respected and sought after by those in the know. Last summer Copy Paste Soul launched his own imprint 2 Swords with more original material by himself plus remixes from Dubspeaka, No Artificial Colours and Man With No Shadow plus an upcoming release on Carl Cox's label Intec. 2 years later after his debut on Exploited we are happy to welcome Copy Paste Soul back on the label with a tune that just completely blew us away the first time we heard it. This track Home has written the word RAVE all over. Happy spinning.

Isolée’s Arrival

When three people run a label together it is exceptionally rare to find a positive unified opinion of a record upon first listen. When Isolée sent his "Mangroove" EP to Maeve, this was in fact what happened. But it is Isolée after all....

Mangroove came about last summer when The Drifter happened to catch Isolée's live set at a festival in Switzerland. Instantly blown away by the A side "Pisco" he was determined to find out what it was and if it was to be released. After chatting, Isolée suggested that he would send "Pisco" along with a couple of other "demos" to Maeve and a few days later the EP was happening.

Isolée has created some of the most important and beautiful records of our generation and has being a huge influence on what we do, thus we are incredibly excited and humbled to release his work.

This three track EP shows several different sides of the Frankfurt native, from the A-side dance floor catalyst that is "Pisco" to the deeper dubbier B-sides of "L5 Syndrome" and "Mangrove". This is the perfect record to mark our tenth release.
