@adhocrecords are excited to present forthcoming EP Open Up from rising star @hermanito-music. Emerging from the quiet solitude of 2020, here is a must-listen for fans of the unpredictable and beat-laden cross-cultural stylings of Bonobo, Emancipator, Quantic, Aim and Caribou.

Open Up EP takes global inspiration, spanning Peruvian footwork, ‘70s Brazilian crate-digging and a lifetime of eclectic musical exposure. In equal parts new, familiar and divergent, it’s truly an EP to take note of - not just for its breadth but the skill of its execution. Strap in for an artfully constructed ride through dancefloor and downtime genres, culminating in a punchy future-liquid incarnation of Manhattan, reworked by long-time collaborator Joaquín Cornejo.

From its G-Funk top line to the textural 808 tangent and jazz-hop flute, Cup of Joe more than any other track on the EP depicts Hermanito’s artistic evolution. Prepare for a journey through his past and present listenings, all the time teasing and neatly juxtaposing future sounds with instantly recognisable sonic easter eggs.

The concept is still the same: no preparation, just vibes. Nothing is quite as fun as having to improvise :D 
I had so much fun picking out the tracks for this mix as I went along, and I think I chose a quite interesting bunch this time around. 
Third time's the charm, right?

Hour Long House Parties #003

Santiago Vieira aka SV3 is a Uruguayan musician/producer borned and raised in Barrio Sur, Montevideo.

At an early age of 4, Santiago started his path into music by studying in the Taller Uruguayo de Música Popular (T.U.M.P.). 

Strongly surrounded by artists, his passion for electronic music began when he was a teenager influenced by the clubs he went to and talented local artists from his hometown such as Z@p, DJ Koolt, Matías Muten, Nicolas Lutz, Hernán González aka Two Phase U, Santiago Uribe and many more.

Later on, he participated in locally respected projects such as @deeper.uy and @atemporal.discos. The first one is a prestigious Uruguayan party and the second one is a rising vinyl store.

On this occasion he presents us his first Live format Set inviting Software and analog hardware.

As on last year's gorgeous Days Like This / On My Own, plus the "Universal Glow" follow-up, Shanti Celeste yet again vaults the bar marked 'really, really good' with ease; she's been on a roll for a while now, and shows little sign of tapering off. "Moods" plays it a little more direct than the head-in-the-clouds numbers before, doing away with the enchanting vocals and supplanting them with a dancefloor-primed bump that is impossible to deny. This one's out on  BRSTL, an imprint Shanti has an active hand in, and home of her very first 12". It also continues a now strikingly obvious release pattern – September, April, September, April. With music as bright as this, who'd have guessed?
