You may already know Steve Cobby: one of Hull's most talented residents, co-founder of Fila Brazillia and a chronic remixer/music maker. During 30 years of musical service he's forged remixes for acts as brilliantly diverse as Radiohead, Busta Rhymes and A Certain Ration. Déclassé, his own imprint is also home to 2014's critically acclaimed  Saudade and the upcoming (and brilliant)  Everliving LP.

"We Start Over" is an International Feel baby though - the result of Cobby and vocalist Trudie Dawn Smith combining for a bout of Balearic bliss. The ‘Private Acid Mix’ comes from two of house music's current treasures, Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer a.k.a Tuff City Kids, holding nothing back and dropping the 303 in a fine style with looped and twisted vocal snippets.

It's been 10 years since their last release on 20/20 Vision, but it is with great excitement that we welcome Spirit Catcher back to the label with their aptly named Blast From The Past EP! 

As one of the corner stones of 20/20, their early singles and album are legendary label artefacts and these guys were total pioneers of the cosmic, disco infused house sound which then became prominent in following years. 

Blast From The Past has been getting heavy rotation in Ralph Lawson's sets over the summer and so we're really glad to finally see it reach the light of day. This one is a trip into hyperspace with cosmic synth pulses leading the way before a killer bass line takes you track straight to planet Spirit Catcher! 

On the flip Closer takes the trip further with more expert bass hooks being joined by vox pads and otherwordly fx. The EP is finished off with Routing Madness, a homeage to the duos love for analogue studio gear which you can hear in the intricate synth patterns which pop and weave through the tracks duration.

Krankbrother’s productions just keep getting better. Now up to their eighth release on their self-titled label, the London-based siblings’ latest EP is their best yet. ‘Paradigm Shift’ kicks off with swinging drums, glossy vox and, dare we say it, a slightly trance-y feel — we can imagine this one soothing dancefloors in Ibiza as the sun comes up. B-side ‘Right There With You’ boasts a stretchy 303 loop and booming house b-line better aligned with Berlin than Van Buuren, signing off another superb release from the duo.

It's out 30th May on Krankbrother Records.

This is a remix I did for Jamie Lloyd, one of Sydney's most talented musician. 
                  The track came out in January 08 on Future Classic, backed up with a Soultourist remix of "You're Out or In?". In other words, it's a Drumpoet release in disguise. The virus keeps spreading ;-)
                  Concerning my remix, I wanted something with more "ooomph" than my previous tracks...judge it for yourself, but I think this one is on a rave tip!
