FaltyDL's trusty Blueberry label sets sail with catalogue no. BBR008 under his new Tenant moniker, Not for Press. The opening track sets the tone for the entire six-tracker – a dizzying tyranny of factory-line sounds to elevate listeners to a state of raised heart rates and higher consciousness. It's hard to believe that Falty/Tenant is also a part-time librarian... or maybe it actually makes perfect sense. "Remote Lover" remains incredibly melodious, despite its almost entirely percussive texture (until that unannounced synth euphoria at the 3-minute mark). For that reason, its title couldn't be more accurate.

One that must be handled with care, Not for Press drops on 8th April. Approach with caution.

In a sea of thousands of dance music labels, Gottwood Festival have proven their worth with their Gottwax imprint. Their compilations EP1 and EP2 have boasted seminal summertime numbers from Ruf Dug, Cottam, Rob Amboule and more. Now, Gottwax's forthcoming EP3 consists of four new tracks cut on bright orange acetate by Ponty Mython, Krywald & Farrer and Bonar Bradberry – and a welcome return for Appleblim. Relishing in our fortune to have a first listen, it is the four-four iridescence of Appleblim's "Phosphene" that stands out most. An epic homecoming for the Bristolian producer who has otherwise kept relatively quiet as of late, setting sail suitably on the third Gottwax ship.

EP3 drops via Gottwax on 16th April.

The wheel within the wheel kept spinning as the motor from within began to roar. The engine gasped and cried as he pelted full throttle across the bareback desert. Sand roared under the screeching tyres. The brakes shuddered under the strain. The wheels kept spinning, an infinite loop, a dada loop of the most hideous of proportions. The sport had long been associated with trouble but for one reason or another nobody had been able to bring themselves to call time on the event. This was it. 

Fly High Society come correct with a split ep from Contours & Dada Cantona. Here is the Contours track which blends elements of jazz and house in a soulful fashion.

If you’re a Montreal local, chances are you’ve heard of @00-AM already. The collective originated from humble beginnings, just a bunch of good pals coming together to throw hearty dance parties. However, over the past two years they’ve really built for themselves a more-than-impressive portfolio of acts they’ve brought to Montreal – from the Black Madonna to Palms Trax, Avalon Emerson to Mood II Swing… the list goes on (and on). Apart from gifting us with these international treats, 00:AM also run quirky ‘Pub Club’ numbers; they’re a fantastic celebration and a showcase of our local talent. Having recently had their efforts recognized at large via a Piknic Électronik debut playing alongside Roman Flügel and Shanti Celeste, the 00:AM group has now taken yet another big step in their continuous contribution to the scene – they’re starting up a record label.

Forthcoming September 8, 00AM001 will be the first imprint of the new label’s projected series of Various Artists 12”s. Embodying their ethos of unifying Montreal locals with international friends, 00AM001 features familiar names Adam Feingold and Priori tucked in cosily between Australia’s Mike Midnight and AshTreJenkins of LA.

Opening up the 12” on A1 is ‘Twilight Zone’ by @MikeMidnight, a name that’s been popping up quite regularly over the past few years on more than a couple of Perth’s party bills. The track makes for a smooth mover, building slowly from creamy mid-bass drones, with delicately ascending arpeggios on keys and graceful crescendos on majestic synths. From what we can tell, the Perth producer is quite the aficionado for raw jungley breaks – the more subtle and refined edition, though – and this is teased from the get-go, with lightly articulated high-hats working up to a loose and natural jazzy jam, ideally paired with sensual improvisations on the sax. Short but sweet, the track fades out just as it starts to peak after an intermission of a bouncy tribal melodic motif, and we’re left thirsty for what’s next.

PREMIERE : Mike Midnight - Twilight Zone

The label Limbe discloses itself with its first release ‘Le Bord du Disque', a compilation of 4 French newcomers ready to take you on a journey between House, Acid and Lo-fi.
The Lyon-based trio Maisons Neuves starts the EP with the track 'Hoikiuna', seductive epic in homage to dolphins which dive straight in the middle of the ocean. The haunting and cyclic pads combined with the picky kicks wrap us up and make us lose all sense of space-time, we would never like to emerge.
Straight from Avignon, Name completes the A-side with 'Last Variation', a constantly evolving track juggling between Classic House and a sinuous psychedelic Acid. Over the course layers are overlaid and bring a variety of emotions that enhance the structure and keeps recalling us like a nagging drug on the rise.
The B-side starts with a slap and the title 'Sakuraï’ by S36 from Amiens. This mighty track shoot us off on the battlefield with its Acid melody and its sharp claps. Voluntarily erased pads complete the work by sending our brain far above, the separation of body and mind is in place.
It's the Parisian Puffin who gets to close the EP with 'How Fast Those Moments Flee' a track full of emotion that aim to continue the journey forever. The seductive vocals juggle with a guitar riff and catchy percussions, writing a melancholy story that you do not want to escape.
Limbe is the natural evolution of the webzine All In Electro co-founded in 2012 by Robin Thomas, that has always striven to give visibility to emerging talents from all over the globe.
