Internet obsession, rave-nostalgia & intense anxiety surrounding death. A sense of purpose was dwindling from euphoric moments. Extended eye contact till you can feel it in your stomach, to be everlasting, to look up to the sky & say: “This feels Like Heaven”.

Grasps_ develops their signature sound, using Heaven as an ode to the meaningful connections forged through their work. The Eora (Sydney) based artist unpacks and reflects on the experiences of urban dread and trepidation, intimacy and desolation, overtly depicted through a lens of melancholia.

Grasps - HEAVEN

You are deep in the forest, deep in your mind.
Your fingers gently tie up the symbols, binding them one by one. You see how the rope intertwines their togetherness, and sound spawns from the constellation. Big rhythmic machines, huge biological patterns, together they form the sound of an ode. Until you unwind them, and leave.

Infinite time may pass, you forget their purpose.

But it's okay, they will wait for you here, until you decide to return

On Borrowed Wings
is footage titled "P1070789" found on a standard Nikon D3100, the camera itself is undamaged with red stains on the body and the strap. The red stains have tested to be a mixture of clay and cinnabar. The camera itself was found in the Angeles Crest mountains in Southern California, yet the stains and footage place this camera at Reflection Point, Boulder, Colorado, hours before it was found. Local authorities at both Reflection Point and the Angeles Crest have reported the low hum of machinery, mild confusion, and feelings of euphoria approaching the locations. The two individuals in the image are still to be found.

Sunwound

E2kie is a musician, photographer, and visual artist from Belgium. Growing up in Limbourg, most of E2kie’s initial exposure to music came through the internet, scouting through YouTube and becoming influenced by internet and world sounds, later pursuing these sounds in a real-world context, DNB raves, Deconstructed Club nights and hip hop shows exposed him to sounds which now shape his practice.
E2kie’s first entry into the music world was a trap project consisting of live vocals and production, later expanding into the club music world making edits and original tracks (many of which were released under the GOOFAHOLICS project alongside DJ Swagger Life). He now produces club edits, DJs, and runs #SWAGPARTY alongside Swagger Life in Limbourg, bringing high-octane crossbreed club music to his community and the world.

For this mix, E2kie has chosen music from his entire palette of genres, featuring trap, club, baile and deconstructed cuts, creating euphoric, sounds by finding the intersection between his world of influences.
