Another oldie that needs to go in my SC archive now that I have way too much space available. This is a chiptune I made some 8 years ago before I even posted my first track on Reunion Netlabel. It's one of those tracks that pushed me towards where I am today, so I keep feeling obliged to share it with people. I hope you like it

Rare occasions! Rare occasions.
This is a pretty conservative take on the Red Soil theme from Super Metroid, at least musically. I tried to keep it interesting by messing with the structure :)

Oh, wow.
It's been a while, guys. Thanks for sticking around! This is my first post in a while and I hope the genre doesn't scare you. I haven't made an original track in this style since 2012 so many of you might not be aware of this side of me, since that's when I started uploading here. You might've heard my OC ReMixes and they tend to emulate my older songs in terms of style (2006-2012). So if you enjoyed my metroid remix this might be something down your alley. 
Don't worry! I'm not quitting chiptune! I have some tracks in the wip folder. :)

I've been focusing on producing the debut album of Ikiryo, a band I play the bass in. That's why the last year's posts have been sparse, the record is now done on my end (mixing) so I will have more time to make music again going forward.

Hope you like this track, it felt good to open schism again.

Space Domino

Oh dear, this one has been in the works since before my thinking cap remix. The oldest file I could find was from July 2011. Boy have it changed, though. It's gone through 4 revisions by now, but I'm finally decently happy with what it is.

I love this game, It's one of those forgotten classics that just blew me away as a kid. A combination of top-down explorer and space shooter? why not? :)
This is my - fairly exaggerated - take on the password / end stage theme - after everything has been blown to smithereens, as Miria leaves Naru to fight the final boss.

Chasm Diving

Another remix, in the midst of all the noise from the band, here's an eclectic psytrance/chiptune arrangement of one of the best title screen tracks of all time, by Rob Hubbard, based on the work of Philip Glass. A remix of a remix. 
I never played this game myself, but I grew up listening to a .xm version I found on the webs by Wire. When I actually found the original I was even further blown away by this piece. A classic indeed.

Influx

This is the third installment of my Triangle Waves series. I've recently gone through my insanely vast WIP folders and tried to sort out what should and should not be finished (there's just too much), and I found this piece from around the same time as Hypnagogia, so i dusted it off, gave it some polish and an outro (originally it just looped). Made with a single triangle wave sample, just like its predecessors.

It doesn't try too hard, but I think it adds enough without taking away too much. I've been thinking about extending it or adding stuff, but I've decided to let it be as is, as it feels complete somehow, even in its obvious minimalism.

Info:
I pressed rec in Reason and started playing. First attempt at doing this kind of recording, although I have been playing the piano a lot recently. Improv fits me well at the moment, since I have little to no time to write, plan, track, arrange, mix or master anything. Oh, and June 2018 (not sure of the date) marks 20 years making music in trackers for me. So there's also that. I'm a bit amazed at that number...

Known Issues:
* I don't have a sustain pedal for this thing, so I added some ambient echoing, hopefully not annoying.
* The keys are a bit awkward (I'm used to bigger keys), so I slipped a few times. Sorry about that.
* As evidenced by the picture, the keyboard has only two octaves.
* I was at least wearing pants.

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've more or less run out of upload space, so tracks will be few and far between.
Keep an eye on Reunion for bigger releases.

This installment uses PureMagnetik's Grand Piano Lite sample pack, recorded live in Renoise Tracker with my two-octave akai keyboard.
No sustain pedal this time either, but some processing made it sound a bit better and less dry.

I'm mostly known for my OC ReMixes, but I also do a lot of chiptune &/or IDM hybrid stuff in Schism Tracker & Renoise Tracker. 

I also run the netlabel called Reunion since 2006, we've been on a lengthy hiatus, but rebooted the label in Sep 2019 with a sparse release schedule - It started out as a platform for me to get in contact with my old netlabel pals from the late 90s to early 00s (hence the name), as I had lost my internet access for a few years, but it turned into a pretty big project with 50+ artists from around the globe. 
I ran out of upload space on here, so I won't be posting as much anymore. Keep an eye on Reunion instead.
