TMNGTOOLS #02 | Juan Acosta & Zogbe - Monday

Hailing from Oxford in the United Kingdom, Timmy P has become a staple in the house scene across the past decade, racking up releases on the likes of Local Talk, Strictly Rhythm, What NxT, Nervous and of course Cécille where he returns here following 2022’s ‘Words Fail, Music Speak’ EP.
Title-cut ‘Mylo’s Groove’ leads and sees Timmy P employing a classic filter house feel via an amalgamation of choppy vocal chants ebbing and flowing amongst one another while a sturdy drum groove, gritty stab sequences and pulsating bass keep things swinging throughout.
On the flip-side is ‘Vintage B’, as the name would suggest the composition harkens back to the golden era of US, layering jazzy keys, acid squelches, brass licks and hypnotic voices atop a robust 909 drum workout.

PIV Records turns on the heat with the first collaboration ep of Prunk and Chris Stussy on the label.

The first cut "Tunnelvision" kicks off with a bassline that rolls like a ’67 mustang, while smooth vocal cuts and very orientated percussion sounds drive through your soul.

With "Polar" they go deeper combining hard kicks, dirty swinging snares and hi hats. This track borrows some influence from the late 90's.

Title track "Brooklyn Tears" is made for creating epic moments on the dancefloor and will definitely take you to higher places. As a special treat on this vinyl release, they have made a special dub version for the vinyl heads. The dub track is deep, perfect for the early warm up vibes and add action to the dancefloor.

Last but not least it's "That Groove" that finishes this EP, the long-awaited club track everyone has been waiting for, just for the digital deejays amongst us.

Enzo Siragusa and Rich NxT link up on the new dancefloor weapon 'See You In Ten' that leads off the former's second album of 2019 titled 'Enzo Siragusa presents: A Decade Of Rave Volume 2'.

Following the first installment of 'A Decade Of Rave' that featured 10 solo tracks, Enzo Siragusa now unveils seven new songs each featuring a collaboration with artists from his FUSE crew. This is the first time FUSE fans will see all five work together on one release, which is a testament to the watertight friendships they have built.

Enzo Siragusa had  this to say on the relationship he has with his FUSE family and vision behind the new material: "The boys and I have grown together as artists. Raving together every Sunday when FUSE was a weekly party, then taking those experiences back to the studio together has made us incredibly close. Not only has the FUSE sound evolved as a result of this, but also our solo careers. We fed our individual experiences back to each other, and in turn back into FUSE. Each of the guys have inspired me greatly over the years. Each have helped influence mine and the label sound. 10 years of friendship, and we wouldn’t have got to this point if we weren’t driving and helping each other so much. The album is a celebration and reflection of all of this"

New York talent David Berrie brings his unique house music vision to the Play It Say It label, rounding out their year in true style.

Berrie started sneaking into New York clubs in his early teens and has been deeply entrenched in the scene ever since. From hip hop to disco to techno, he brings a wide spectrum of sounds to his productions, which have come on Hot Creations and Cuttin Headz before now, as well as Play It Say It. After a big residency at DC10 in Ibiza this summer, he now impresses once again on the production front.

It is ‘Inhibition’ that opens up with a slick sci-fi groove and taught bass that is perfectly bumping. It’s an occult atmosphere for late night dancing and the Twilight Mix is layered up with mind-melting cosmic synths that take it even deeper. ‘Cherry Bomb’ is another minimal house masterpiece, with slick drum rhythms and underlapping bass all making for a supple and succulent groove that gets you in a state of hypnosis. Last of all is the punchy ‘Buchabeats’ which has stylish jazz chords and garage percussion all run through with freaky vocal samples and trippy little effects.

This fantastic final release brings Play It Say It’s 2019 to a close with typically high quality and forward looking tracks.
