Mochi (餅) is Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice. The rice is pounded into paste and molded into the desired shape. In Japan it is traditionally made in a ceremony called mochitsuki.

地域に耳を傾けると、素晴らしい音、残していくべき音が多くあることに気付きます。2008年から72名のワークショップ参加者により録音された、1017もの音の素材「音風景」をもとに、その活用と可能性を考えます。身近な音を録音・編集し、様々な場所や環境に合わせて再生を楽しむワークショップ、パソコンを使って音源を編集し作品つくりを試みるワークショップ、作曲作品公募などを行ないます。集大成として3月に、音風景の音源を複数のスピーカーで体験するインスタレーションや、ダンスとのコラボレーション、公募作品発表、シンポジウムとコンサートを開催します。2012年度までに集めた音源を「音風景ライブラリー」として配信中。http://www.chinoshiminkan.jp/archives/index_Otofuukei.htm
