We had the honor of hosting him numerous times around the world; NYC, Barcelona & Dominican Republic; all moments and performances are unforgettable and meaningful. This  120 mins. set is an exclusive mix specially dedicated to all the members of our community. The gripping set is a composition that has his signature stamped from beginning to end, holding the recent and the classic; combining structural frequencies of different styles unto his own idiosyncratic genre, doubtless a masterstroke. "sorin george rastoaca, aka vid, has been involved with music for quite a while now… some of his earliest releases under a different alias harken back to 2010. in 2012, the launch of his own label, aptly named andromeda, cemented the foundation of a project dedicated to sharing the ornate sounds stemming from the world that vid walks within.

as a producer, vid heavily draws inspiration from nature. the world around him projects an abundance of sound… from the melodic chirping of birds to the effervescent bubbling of rivers, or, the gentle rustling of the wind as it passes through the nearby woods. in these delicate moments, vid finds the right ingredients to coalesce resulting in otherworldly grooves and soundscapes that transport the mind. genre is of no consequence as these pieces of music blur and blend between the minimalistic shades of house and techno (and all things in between). this is music that speaks from the heart as much as it soothes the mind.

as a dj, that same production imaginativeness manifests in the style of sets vid enjoys bringing about. his ear has a penchant for finding the records that have unique off-kilter sounds that easily find a home within his sonic nature walk. the end result? a curated journey that’s meant to challenge expectations, elicit surprise and above all else… spark joy.

The music played by Dragos Gabriel Dumitru, the Romanian-born DJ known as Cally, has close ties to one place. Originally from Craiova, he’s part of a new wave of minimal house DJs who emerged from Romania’s electronic scene following the success of the [a:rpia:r] trio in the late 2000s. 

Dumitru spent years developing his own take on the so-called Romanian sound before moving to London – another place that’s been pivotal in shining a light on the country’s rising stars. He’s now a resident at Stump, the underground party with a philosophy built on Romania’s stripped-back sound.

His party has seen him playing alongside some of Romania’s key players, but he’s also kept busy in the studio, with his work ending up on labels like Fear Of Flying and Cocoon’s fabled mix series. 

With Stump holding a firm place in East London’s party scene, more people than ever are hearing Dumitru play for the first time – outside of London he’ll also make his first appearance at Romania’s mecca for electronic music at Sunwaves this summer. 

More immediately he’s also playing in the club at this weekend’s WetYourSelf!, so he sent us over this mix of understated house to give us an idea of what to expect when he joins us in Room One.
