The demure appearance of Romanian artist Praslea belies his deep involvement in the music industry. With his name appearing on top events, especially in his home town of Bucharest, circa 2007, Florin Cunțan is a certified don of our scene. Having been inducted into the [a:pia:r] clique from an early age his “Jurnal De Bord” EP way back in 2009 he has hardly been prolific, but this is not where his real talent lies. With his solo credentials above reproach, it is par for the course for Praslea and his peers to perform together even at the biggest of events. So, it is hardly surprising that two artists from this family should join forces on the regular and that partnership is Praslesh. Guesthouse is turning 8 years old, so we thought that as a thank you for all your support we would offer this as a little present in preparation for this weekend’s party and in turn for leaving you with the start of a musical legacy we intend to create through this podcast series.

It is such a great pleasure to present you with the first Guesthouse Podcast along with other aspects which we will be bringing out this week such as our brand new website and blog.

To start things off, we have who is, one of the most understated and respected artists in our scene, Rhadoo, to provide us with a recording of his fabric set when the club turned 19 years old last October. A lot could be written and said about this artist who is so outstanding, unique and historically relevant to minimalism, however, in order to be in line with his identity and his understatement we will let the music speak for itself. 

We would like to thank fabric for granting us this recording and wish them a great night this Saturday as they have their annual RPR Soundsystem gathering. 

Back here in Bucharest, we will be celebrating with a stellar line up including Charlie, Christopher Ledger, Inner, Junki Inoue, Kozo, Praslea and Vera.

ここ近年、世界でミニマルハウスシーンを語る上ではルーマニアという街は決して欠かせないシーンになっていることは、ここ日本のアーティストの誰もが感じていることだろう。
毎週日本のレコードショップでも、そのルーマニアのアーティストやレーベルが必ずというほど入荷され、必ずというほどその週には売り切れ状態になる。その火付け役となったレーベルが Raresh、Petre Inspirescu、Rhadoo の3名からなる [a:rpia:r] だ。彼らがワールドワイドに台頭していく中、驚くほど若き才能が彼らに継いで生まれていった。
中でも Praslea というアーティストが取り上げられるだろう。彼はすでにルーマニアシーンでは欠かすことのできない存在であり、地元ブカレストでも幾度も Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Ritchie Hawtin, Zip といったビッグネームと共演を果たしていった。そして、Gig を重ねていく間、盟友 Cezar と 「Afumati」 というプロジェクトをスタートさせ [a:rpia:r] からスプリット EP をリリース。また、彼自身と Kozo、Cezar でスタートさせたレーベル 「UNDERSTAND」 から1st EP として Raresh とのプロジェクト、Praslesh で"Out Of Time"をリリース。たったこの2枚のリリースでルーマニアだけではなく、今ではヨーロッパ各国からのオファーが絶えない存在に成長した。
