Lisbon-based label Karakter is back for its 18th release, the 3rd of the year, and this time featuring a mighty collaboration between two rising Mexican artists: Javier Martínez (SXDNS104) and Fernando Velázquez, mostly known as Undefined Pattern (SXDNS197). "Lane Reduction" was born when the two young producers decided to create their own vision of what a dance peak night track should be. Inspired by long road trips, they delivered two cosmic, dark anthems for the dance floor (one day, we shall return!), both filled with rugged basslines, cosmic synths, and dystopian percussions. The outstanding remix duty was provided with love by none other than Cornelius Doctor and Motel 77 (SXDNS094).

One of the masterminds behind the vital French label HARD FIST, Cornelius Doctor needs no further introduction. Owner of a very peculiar sonority, he spared no efforts to deliver an insightful interpretation of “Delta Junction”. As usual, Cornelius brought some weirdness and inventiveness to the party, adding throbbing vocal layers and intense percussive elements that entirely changed the mood of the solid original. Sometimes that’s the job of the remixer, isn’t it?

Local Suicide are back with the second of four remix EPs for their debut album, 'Eros Anikate', each named after an ancient Greek god. The Greco-German DJ and Producer couple, known for their wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno, EBM, and dark disco, have been driving live audiences into a frenzy across the globe with captivating performances and live sets. Their propulsive grooves have earned them the title of key figures in the up-rising dark disco scene, as well as overwhelming support from the music press worldwide for their 13 EP releases to date. We are premiering the final remix for the EP that comes from Boys' Shorts for 'Eros Anikate' feat. Greek new wave legend Lena Platonos. The Greek DJ and producer duo had been friends for over a decade and spent endless hours on the decks together DJing around Greece and Europe before deciding to form their project and share their love for electronic music. Their music is a blend of everything they mix in their DJ sets, from disco to breaks, slow techno to acid, with the sole aim of making people dance. Having previously released their hit ‘New Era’ EP via the Iptamenos Discos imprint, the duo return for their remix of 'Eros Anikate feat. Lena Platonos', speeding up the track and adding driving synth sequences and groovy rhythms for a fun and vibrant remix.

Beyond The Struttosphere return to Gouranga in full force, two years following the release of their lauded debut EP, New Frontier. The title track of Astral Riders imagines the two cosmonauts burning through the atmosphere to a soundtrack of chugging metallic guitar stabs, syncopated arpeggiators and celestial 808 hits, coupled with an extraterrestrial vocal sample from the 1969 cult biker film, Easy Rider. The track builds in momentum, before propelling into cloud nine with a fully tranced-out crescendo. Remix duties are provided by two maestros of the scene: Mexican dark wave legend Rigopolar applies his signature formula to the original, stripping it back to its core components, and bolstering it with cosmic synths, driving motorik percussion and a Donna Summer style bassline that ramps up the groove. Israeli house aficionado Juvë delivers a second remix that draws on elements of deep house and comes loaded with distorted FX, ethereal pads and reverberating low-end synths that culminate in a spectacular drop. 
The second offering, Canyon Grit, is as gnarly and raw as its name suggests: this is full throttle dancefloor banger, commanded by a dynamic resonant chug bassline, reinforced with cutting snares, driving hi-hats, reverbed guitar loops, and Hendrix-inspired psychedelic 303 sequences that will leave you gasping for air. The original is backed by a stellar remix from Tiempo De Maldad, another Mexican stalwart, whose take cruises through hyperspace in unfaltering abandon, with kinetic drum workouts and spacey synths that navigate the tune to its tripped-out conclusion. 
The final track, Set Lasers To Stun, comes laden with intoxicating solo guitar recorded live on a vintage Stratocaster, deployed with euphoric Rhodes piano, galactic laser zaps, twanging new wave guitar chords, and the BTS trademark chug bassline. The EP closes with a remix from Rebolledo, head honcho of Burning Man’s Mayan Warrior and one half of the legendary Pachanga Boys. His contribution remodels the track into a dark and hypnotic desert trip, with dusty FX and dreamlike melodic pads that will no doubt teleport dancefloors into the stratosphere.

The two have been working quite a while together, sending each other all kinds of body and mind moving music over the big ocean. Belly Dance Services and label head Nick Hanzo are ecstatic to present the more indy dance vibes of the fabolous duo.

The trans global collaboration is completed with a dark evolving remix banger by Ravintsara from Biarritz for "Shatter", and a heavy pleasure rework from Teniente Castillo de Madrid for "Break The Line" – all in all a complete package for dark indy dancy vibe lovers.
