As Roam Recordings approaches its 100th release, label boss Jason Peters returns with three originals for the 99th. The title track - Broken - is a heavy, mid tempo chugger lead by distorted guitars and analog synths for a dark and moody romp. Picking up the tempo is Time Division with its crossover of indie dance, dark disco, and techno with its driving arps and warped soundscapes over a pulsating rhythm. Rounding it out is Trifecta that again hops genres with a bit of italo and 90's rave in the mix. The EP is backed by two excellent remixers - Roam alumni and Indonesian electronic music maestro Jonathan Kusuma and South Korean rising star Shubostar. Up first is Shubostar who brings up the tempo of the title track with a breakbeat while keeping it dark and mysterious. Jonathan Kusuma takes on Trifecta and moves it into heady psychedelic electro territory with his bass mix.

It's time for a massive extended play from Oaxaca, Mexico. Ricci OJ a.k.a. Mad Slow (@mad-slow) presents us: "Distopía", 3 original tracks and 5 remixes by: So Piuzzi, Bluecommand, Paltamango, Lucas Novaes and Khafuri on Kyma Komplex (@kymakomplex).

Mad Slow takes references from chip-tune, electro and techno to create this EP: Machine, Jungle and Detroit are the songs that make up this "Distopía". With big basses, robotic sounds and strong highs, the Oaxacan transports us to a half-extraterrestrial atmosphere to enjoy this journey that is transformed a long the way with the incredible remixes.

From Cordoba, Argentina, So Piuzzi takes "Jungle" to a style between deep, minimal and techno, using ethereal sounds, generating a dark atmosphere.

Mariana Cosio alias Blucommand also experiments with the sounds of "Jungle" creating an environment similar to a hypnotic limbo.

palmamango is the solo musical project of the producer and DJ Antonia Mosso, who makes us a deconstruction of the song "Detroit" generating a kind of quite nice break beat to shake the body amigos.

The musician and producer from the city of São Paulo, Brazil, Lucas Novaes, who is part of the Colokadas collective, gives us a remix of the song "Detroit" based on the EBM, Dark Disco, Indie Dance and Synthwave genres that results in the creation of a dark very danceable track.

To conclude, Khafuri with a danceable delight, a more trippy but also quite explosive version of Detroit, which makes dance eternal with this mix.

Appearing for the first time on our humble premiere section, the promising Italian label My Secret Agenda opens its doors again for Hola Estrella, a rising & shining Venice-based duo whose previous works published on NEIN and My Secret Agenda itself have drawn the attention of the Indie Dance community to the sonority of these obscurity and psychedelia lovers. The forthcoming episode of their music journey is the remixes EP of the last summer’s well-received release “Amen” which counted with the collaboration of Mattia Bison for the title track. This time, besides the interesting Ritual Mix of “Amen”, Mmyylo, From Beyond (SXDNS329), and Eyjafjöll (SXDNS214) jumped in with their respective revisions.

Premiered here, Alex Wastnidge’s version of “Melody Mecca” is a sexy slo-mo chugg cut with a stunning acid attitude and an enticing oriental aura. Oh, you don’t know who Alex Wastnidge is? We don’t blame you, inasmuch as there’s absolutely no piece out there released under his name. But look it up From Beyond… then the search will be fruitful. Well versed in the traditions of Berlin School and Krautrock, producer TM Solver knows a thing or two about taking listeners on a journey, or more precisely, ushering them into new musical spaces they might not have explored before. 

Having built an impressive catalogue of long players over the last 15 years, primarily for long-standing affiliates Syngate and its offshoot Luna, he now opens his psychedelic world to Berlin-based label R.i.O for a four-track EP titled Subtraktiv Additiv. With his haul of analog synthesizers he fashions a collection of absorbing rhythmic deviations that, on the flip, are twisted and morphed into new forms by a strong cast of remixers: Benedikt Frey, Mayo, O-Wells, Sunju Hargun and Red Axes.
