Name: Exoprophet by Playmodes in Algorithmic experiments

Description: An output from the ongoing research software for algorithmic composition. MIDI notes are generated through sets of harmonic and rhythmic rules, which include probabilistic models. These notes are then used to feed a synthesizer.

A collection of simple algorithmic music experiments created with a self-made software tool. It explores harmonic motion based triggering of notes, and modal harmony mapping and sequencing of pitches.
Just 1 instrumental layer is involved in each composition.
By the moment, these are just studies, but will evolve into something serious in the future.

PROGRAMME NOTE

“Direct sound” refers to the that which you hear from a single directional instrument, and “indirect sound” is that which is heart mostly thorugh reverberation or a group of different instruments playing in unison. These "presences" can be intimate (soft and direct), far (forte and indirect), diffuse (soft and indirect) or near (forte and direct).

Chotto Matte (Japanese for "wait a moment") leans into lo-fi drum machine vibe with a raw, unpolished mix. Distorted percussion, thick pads and heavy hats create a dense groove. A mono-style layout and saturated kick give the track a compact, brutalist character. Rude, bassy and rolling.
