Music enthusiast since elementary school, Simone Lanza has collected all his efforts in his main, prolific, producing project: Waxlife is a musical journey into real life devotion, mixing solid grooves and authentic experiences with an impressive aptitude.

New Adventures In Lo-Fi EP is composed by six tracks, mostly based on a rétro electronic (apparently) lo-fi concept, garnished with oldschool street breakbeats and timeless abstract whispers. All these resounding hip-hop shaped, even without being like this at all.
Starting with Dark Path, it immediatly expresses album's guidelines, even without revealing manifestly all the moods you'll go through. 80s synths evoke some kind of masterpieces of Warp galaxy fusing themselves to fat, oldschool rythmics. The album goes on with Between Us, a little treat imbued with both airy and melancholic Ninja Tune flavors, dotted with placid caribbean recalls. Hope is an almost pop-mystical electronic ode to higher states of mind doped by classical and gloomy incomings. Data Breaks embodies the most dance oriented track, resounding as a very italian housey stuff from the early 90s,  enriched by juicy 80s pleasures – among synths and fluid vocoders. New Wave Is Dead switches off dance alerts, combining ambient sound-landscapes and dark atmospheres straight up to gothic echoes. To end up this complex, dark and, at the same time, very seductive and electropop shaped album, Machines represent a return to familiar and funky breakbeats, made up with groovy bass , vocoder sound modulations and street beats. A perfect “happy end” for a short, but so much impressive, emotional and evocative trip into new (lo-fi) adventures.

Last but not least, the newborn collab with d406 - fedeli alla linea gallery, with its artists selection for the graphical part of our releases, starting with the minimalist vector aesthetics of CT, who cuts his works on typographic forms, deconstructing them into a bold and uniform shape. Less is more.

Ten years after his debut New Adventures In Lo-Fi EP, Simone Lanza aka Waxlife returns to Museek with the second chapter of the saga. New Adventures In Lo-Fi is a project grounded in a retro electronic, deliberately lo-fi aesthetic, enriched with old-school street breakbeats and timeless abstract murmurs.

Once again, we’re embracing our DIY ethos with a limited-edition cassette featuring six tracks crafted by Waxlife, which is just one of the artistic aliases of Simone Lanza: an eclectic presence in electronic music with two decades of DJing, production, and sound design, moving seamlessly between dancefloors, films, and advertising with the same distinctive sharp approach.

Unearthed from deep in Waxlife archives, this project presents a collection of previously unreleased beats produced between 2009 and 2015. Rather than letting them fade away, this release brings this second batch to light for the first time. Each track captures a snapshot of the New Adventures in Lo-Fi project, preserving the raw textures, moods, and ideas of that period. This tape is both a time capsule and a long-overdue unveiling of a second drop of material that deserves to be heard.

And because you don’t change a winning team, the visual identity is once again shaped by CT. His minimalist vector approach, born from deconstructing typographic forms into bold, uniform shapes, provides the perfect visual counterpart to this past-future nostalgia.

Ten years later the result still channels the spirit of a beat tape, while inhabiting again a world that feels both nostalgically old and intriguingly new.

Hailing from Modena, Davide is studying at the University of York in the UK. His studies and passion lie in the relationship between science and art, drawing the abstract beauty out of this traditionally analytical subject.

Davide takes inspiration from a mathematical notion to bring his first solo project to life. In Mathematics complex numbers are made from a real part and an imaginary part. Without the imaginary part they are purely real. Imaginary Part is an escape from reality, taking inspiration from ambient, downtempo and abstract soundtracks, ready to debut on Museek Record Label.

Modena, 1980s. a rich province, widespread prosperity, a happy
city. Only in appearance. In the surrounding countryside, little by
little, the tortured bodies of young Italians are found: they were
killed and abandoned in ditches or in the ruins of old farmhouses.
The victims are almost all drug addicts, become prostitutes out of
necessity. The last victim is from 1995. In the end there will be
about ten cases, all of which are unresolved. Now their story and
the hunt for the murderer are told by the documentary Il Mostro di
Modena, written and directed by Gabriele Veronesi, produced by
Taiga, supported by the Emilia Romagna Region and the Emilia
Romagna Film Commission, under the patronage of the
Municipality of Modena.

To celebrate Earth Day 2020, Reform Radio has connected 24 countries represented by international artists, for a one-off 24 hour broadcast. Starting at midnight on Wednesday 22nd of April, the line up of 24 handpicked international artists aired hour long shows, each representing their corner of the global underground music scene, with Imaginary Part representing his native country, Italy. 

Our homeboy Imaginary Part’s special broadcast consisted of a 1h modular synth improvisation. His performance didn’t rely on a pre-prepared live set as per his usual approach, but instead the aim was focused on embracing the art of improvisation, experimenting with the trial and error process that lies in between a creative idea and the recording session, emphasising the contrast between musical sounds and noise, between rhythmic patterns and chaotic repetitions, finding the beauty purely in the design process of organic sounds and textures. 

Earth Day 2020 features 11 original self-produced excerpts from Imaginary Part’s performance. 

Imaginary Part alias Davide Cuoghi is a sound artist working between live performance, music production and sound design. He hosts a monthly residency on Reform Radio playing ambient soundtracks, IDM, broken beats and leftfield techno.

Fail / Rise marks a new step in the sound of the Delhikate project. The album comes from what is left of a hard disk whose contents have been completely lost due to a hardware failure. Delhikate turned the initial mourning and desperation into an opportunity to complete the recovered projects and give new life to something, at a time (lockdown days) in which delivering and producing positivity was the only possible thing to do.

Fail/Rise will feature 5 original tracks between electronic, ambient and IDM.

Delhikate is Museek label founder Alberto Bello solo act, born in 2008. This project is nothing but another demonstration of Alberto’s wide interest in the various facets of electronic music, from organic ambient landscapes to synthetic warm 4/4 strictly for midnight vultures.
